  • Useful 27mm wide-angle zoom; excellent image stabilization; full selection of manual and automatic exposure controls; 720p movie capture with operational zoom; relatively fast.
  • Prone to soft, noisy photos; no hotshoe.
  • Other cameras may deliver higher resolution and longer optical zooms, but the Panasonic FZ28 proves that the "more is better" presumption isnt always valid.

  • Massive 18x range with 27mm wide angle, RAW recording and correction of fringing, HD movie recording in the 720p format, Compact light body with full manual control.
  • Fixed screen and smaller EVF than before, No flash hotshoe, Tendency to use small apertures in automatic, Lens cap blocks barrel upon power-up.
  • As we said at the top, the Lumix FZ28 may only represent a minor upgrade over its predecessor, but since that was already one of the best super-zooms around, it places the FZ28 in an even stronger position. Beyond minor irritations with the lens hood,...

  • Wide range of options offer something for everyone, Sharp, vibrant images, Cleaner highsensitivity shooting than the FZ18, Excellent incamera JPEG processing options, Strong battery life numbers, Extremely solid flash unit,
  • HD video looks better than it sounds, White balance performance always a bit off, ISO 1600 still noisy, Some AF weirdness,
  • In many ways, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 is like a perfectly broken-in baseball glove: most users will find that the camera's functions, features, and form conform perfectly to just about any shooting situation, making it easy to trust the Lumix to h...
