  • Useful 27mm wideangle zoom; excellent image stabilisation; full selection of manual and automatic exposure controls; 720p movie capture with operational zoom; relatively fast
  • Prone to soft, noisy photos; no hot shoe
  • Other cameras may deliver higher resolution and longer optical zooms, but the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 proves that the 'more is better' presumption isn't always valid. With a robust feature set and better-than-average performance, this superzoom beats...

  • Given the price, the Leica lens, the telephoto reach, the wide angle, and the cameras ability to shoot RAW, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 review is a solid high-zoom point-and-shoot. Danny Palmerlee Lowest online price: ££229.99 ...

  • Good low ISO image quality, lens, features, iA (intelligent Auto), HD movies, handling
  • High ISO image noise, plastic build
  • Ultra-zoom digicams, such as Panasonic’s new Lumix FZ28 offer a jack-of-all-trades camera to those that require an everything-built-into-one-body solution; but it’s actually an excellent piece of kit well worth closer consideration...

  • Abstract:  Panasonics FZ18 has been our favourite ultra-zoom camera since we reviewed it almost a year ago. Its successor isnt much different: the only external changes are a slightly larger LCD, up from 2½in to 2.7in, and a new playback switch. Still-image ...

  • Abstract:  Big shot. Top image quality and high performance too - the ideal superzoom. The FZ28 was the lightest camera on test except for Kodaks Z8612 IS. Thats partly thanks to its Li-ion battery, which is more compact than AAs. A mini-joystick provides q...

  • 18x zoom with optical stabilization, Good quality images up to 400 ISO, 1 cm macro mode, HD video at 1280 x 740 pixels, Practical, useful automatic modes
  • Electronic noise handling could be better, Casing is rather light; screen too bright, White balance only perfect after manual adjustment, RAW mode too slow, No click wheel access to manual modes

  • Great ISO performance, Vivid color reproduction, Easy to use shortcut buttons, Great Image Stabilization, 720p video recording, RAW support
  • Auto-white balance messes up (rarely though), Night mode is unimpressive
  • The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28s CCD sensor can take pictures of up to 10 megapixels. Image quality is decent - pictures taken were sharp and details were well preserved. The cameras capable of 18x optical zoom, and the image stabilization is pretty impr...
