This wide angled model offers excellent landscape as well as indoor photos. Poor build quality for price, noise and noise reduction, fringing
Although it doesn’t boast the finest handling, isn’t the most solidly constructed and is a little expensive, the FZ28 is capable of nice images. Raw capture, fast focusing and an abundance of features make it a good all-round option.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ28 is an incremental upgrade of an already excellent camera, with few design changes and a smattering of internal improvements. Unless you really want to shoot 720p HD movies, theres little to tempt current DMC-FZ18 owners t...
Abstract: Panasonic have announced an interesting new digital camera, the Panasonic LUMIX DMC-FZ28. Featuring a 10 MP sensor, a 27-486mm (equivalent) optically stabilized lens, ISO 6400 (in reduced quality "high sensitivity" mode) and a 2.5fps continuous shoo...
HD video recording (720p), Wide-angle optics (27mm), Good colour rendition, Quiet lens operation
No hotshoe, Disappointing build quality compared to other Panasonic models, Noisy at ISO 800 and above
The FZ28 produces some very nice images for a superzoom, thanks to its superior optics. There are a few problems with noise and build quality, but for the most part this is a competent camera that can sit up there with its competitors. ...
Abstract: Replacing the popular FZ18 model in Panasonics long-zoom line-up, the new DMC-FZ28 model offers higher resolution (10.1 megapixels vs 8 megapixels) for the same RRP. Its 18x zoom lens covers a 35mm equivalent focal length range of 27-486mm (compared w...
Abstract: Panasonic Lumix FZ 28 digital camera Panasonic believes in evolution rather than revolution and the latest iteration of its superzoom shows how patient improvement pays off. Gone are the bad old days of infuriating shutter lag - the FZ28 is as res...
The lens is magnificent. The effectiveness of the image stabilisation is simply sensational – hand-held photos taken at full zoom extension, equivalent to 486mm, are amazingly sharp. Image quality at ISO speeds up to 200 is very good. ISO400 is OK a...
Unfortunately if you opt for the Intelligent Auto function you won’t know what ISO speeds the camera is choosing until after the event. Auto white balance is poor and the camera is easily fooled under artificial or mixed light sources.
This camera is a pleasure to use. The bad old days of intolerable shutter lag in all-in-one superzooms are well behind us – the Panasonic is as responsive as any compact camera. It can’t match a true SLR, but it is priced against the low end e...
18x optical zoom, no noticeable chromatic aberration, no lens distortion, relatively compact size
Colours were a little under-saturated, images looked soft, noticeable grain at ISO 200
This is a decent model to choose if you want a long zoom range and versatile controls, yet dont want a bulky digital SLR. Its good for travellers in this respect, despite its soft pictures and slightly underdone colour. ...
