  • Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports, Dual USB 3.0 ports, Toolless, caddyless drive bays
  • The cloud feature didn't work properly for us all the time, WD doesn't have much in the way of support when connections need troubleshooting
  • WD's My Cloud EX4 is a network attached storage device that offers good features and build quality for a small office or home office environment, and it's quite easy to use. However, it took us a few goes before the cloud feature worked for us...

  • The WD My Cloud EX4 offers data redundancy, Windows Server integration, and an excellent set of personal cloud features. It's also affordable and very easy to use
  • The server's write speed is disappointing. The mobile app supports a limited number of file formats, there's no search function, and it won't allow you to sort by content type
  • It's not the fastest NAS, nor does it include many advanced features, but the WD My Cloud EX4 still combines great ease of use into an affordable personal cloud system that's excellent for a connected home....

  • Good all-round performance, Energy efficient hardware, User friendly My Cloud OS, Optimised WD Red hard drives, Tool-free drive bays, Low noise operation
  • Not as feature packed as the competition
  • WD has expanded its range of NAS solutions with four new additions that elevate the My Cloud series into prosumer and small-business territory.Arguably the pick of the bunch, the My Cloud EX4100 offers four bays, up to 24TB of storage, a dual-core ARM...

  • nicelooking admin interface, relatively easy to setup
  • slow performance, Mac remoteaccess app requires Java
  • The bundling of hard disks with NAS enclosure by WD is not the bargain it could be. By selecting the cheapest processor and simplest enclosure, compromises have been made that undermine the performance and versatility of the My Cloud EX4. Marketed on its ...

  • Easy to use interface and desktop/mobile application, Available with pre-installed drives, Security of data through RAID configuration, Plug-and-play design
  • Data throughput on local network not as fast as a dedicated local NAS,
  • PricingThe EX4 is available in one of four versions, three of which come with a set of pre-installed WD Red hard drives ready for near plug-and-play operation, whilst a fourth model comes disk-free, ready for the end-user to install drives of their own ch...

  • Well built Lots of storage options Ultra, reliable Quiet Easy to get going
  • Very few apps available Mobile access could be better Average speeds Flaky software
  • WD's My Cloud EX5 certainly has the foundations of a decent and solid NAS system, and it's ruggedly designed and well thought-through. As an (expensive) introduction to NAS it's perfect, and more casual users will find it easy to setup and use on a day-t...

  • easy to use NAS drive for home and small offices, up to 16TB storage, ‘personal cloud' apps for remote access on mobile devices
  • more expensive than a singlebay NAS drive, modest performance
  • There are faster NAS drives available, but the My Cloud EX4 should still be perfectly adequate for the home users and small businesses that it is designed for. It's also much easier to install and run than many of its more business-oriented rivals, making...
