Good Wireless Performance, The Interface Has Lots Of Features, Very Affordable, AC1900, Good Coverage
Slow NAS Functionality, The Interface Is Unpolished
There aren't many cheap AC1900 routers, except maybe for TENDA AC15 and TP-Link Archer C9. And TRENDnet TEW-818DRU AC1900 also fits in this price range and wants to be a bargain, if you compare it to the likes of Netgear Nighthawk, Linksys WRT1900ACS or A...

Modem/Routers using the latest 802.11ac standard offer a real step up compared to the previous generation 802.11n models but unfortunately not all are created equal so as you can clearly see from our charts the TEW-818DRU is really no match for...
Abstract: There are only a handful of wireless routers on the market that advertise AC1900 speeds, Trendnet's TEW-818DRU being one of them. The advertised speed rating is actually a combination of the dual-band data rates. An AC1900 designation means the router is ...
Abstract: The TRENDnet TEW-818DRU AC1900 Dual Band Wireless Router supports all the current standards, including N and AC. With wireless speeds up to 1.3Gbps, it's super fast and has a great coverage area. The stock firmware is comprehensive, but it's compatible wi...
Excellent 802.11ac throughput. Very good speed in 802.11n modes. USB ports support printers and USB drives. Quick and simple wireless setup.
Some interface sluggishness. Firmware updates failed in our tests. Very slow NAS functionality
Trendnet's AC1900 Dual Band Wireless Router (TEW-812DRU) is the fastest 802.11ac router we've tested to date. Unfortunately, some software issues cast a shadow over its shining performance....

The latest TEW-818DRU router from TRENDnet has proven to be quite stable and is offering good wireless speeds on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. This is another router we are seeing with USB 3.0, but the internal hardware is not capable of delivering sp...
Weak storage write performance, Not great 2.4 GHz range performance, Overall poor 5 GHz performance
There's no kind way to put this, but there is really no reason to recommend the TRENDnet TEW-818DRU. It's not even aggressively priced, because you can get the Linksys EA6900 for about the same $175 - $180 or so. Just pass this one by, folks...
Abstract: The TEW-818DRU AC1900 Dual Band Wireless Router is Trendnet's first in the increasingly popular crowd of AC1900 Wi-Fi routers. A little late to the game, but it turns out it's worth the wait. In my testing, the Trendnet was among the three fastest rout...
The TRENDnet 818DRU is quite the router, and one that certainly surprised me. Coming off the high that was the R7000 from Netgear, having a router that features internal antennas perform so well is pretty amazing. ...
