  • The Toshiba 1TB SSHD has been designed for notebook users seeking for a high-capacity storage medium while still achieving some of the advantages that SSDs deliver. The results we got were not anything we didn't expect. Hitting the cache delivers transfers...

  • Build Quality, Ideal For OS Use (SSD-Like Performance For Cached Files), Very Low Temperatures, Low Power
  • Mid-End Overall Performance (Un-Cached),
  • The MQ01ABD100H 1TB SSHD by Toshiba is actually the 6th hybrid drive I've gotten my hands onto over the years and so i really was hoping to see something new in terms of read/write performance (although i also knew that's next to impossible right now for ...

  • The MQ01ABD100H 1TB hybrid drive from Toshiba has given us a similar experience as we have seen before with the standalone caching SSD from KingFast but this time the NAND flash is placed on the PCB of the drive without the need of having two separate...

  • The Toshiba SSHD significantly reduces the boot time of its host computer and enables the system to launch applications much faster, when compared with a regular hard drive. The drive is more affordable than other SSHDs on the market.
  • With only 8GB NAND flash memory and the spinning speed of just 5,400rpm, the drive isn't ideal for transferring a large amount of data.
  • The new drive is currently one of the best deals you can get to replace that old hard drive inside your aging computer.

  • Fits a standard 9.5mm height bay unlike many 1TB 2.5” hard disks that require a 12.5mm bay height, Fast sequential read & write performance, maintains over 100MB/s over the first 400GB, Excellent multitasking performance, especially with simultaneous re
  • Very slow write performance of small files, especially with files smaller than 1MB, Slow with software installations and updates when used as an OS drive.
  • Up until recently, 1TB 2.5” hard disks were only available in a 12.5mm height. Here, Toshiba has managed to fit 1TB in a 9.5mm drive height due its use of 2 higher density platters.Sequential performance is fast for a 2.5” hard disk and from our testing...

  • Abstract:  Over the past few years, 2.5" hard disk capacities have grown by leaps and bounds. And although they're still typically slower than 3.5" drives, performance in the 2.5" form factor continues to increase due to higher data density. Today, even 2.5" drives positioned as quiet energy-savers manage sequential transfer rates over 85 MB/s, while more performance-oriented disks sport transfer rates just shy of 100 MB/s....

  • Abstract:  Now that the prices of SSDs have dropped to well below 50 cents per GB, we expect that only few Hardware.Info readers will still want to use a conventional hard drive as their primary storage device. We still can't quite live without them, however, beca...

  • PricingWith this being an OEM drive, the price is in fluctuation quite a bit. There are a lof of refurbished drives on the market as well as a lot of drives that were plugged and replaced before they're ever used. Even when we're picking brand new drives...
