  • Impressive upscaled Bluray HD image quality, Audiophilegrade music playback from discs and files, Sumptuous build quality
  • Doesn't support 4K UHD Bluray format, An HEVC decoder for 4K streaming apps would have been nice
  • Is the Sony UHP-H1 a Hi-Res Audio media player that just happens to spin Blu-rays, or vice versa? We're not sure, but it's definitely brilliant...

  • Abstract:  I know what you're thinking. Why would anyone buy a new 2K Blu-ray player when 4K Ultra HD models are finally starting to appear...

  • Compact but classy, the UHP-H1 is a massive improvement on the kind of Blu-ray players Sony typically touts. Picture quality, both HD and upscaled, is outstanding and its audio chops are impressive; collectors will love the fact that it plays both Super A
  • Timing is everything, and with 4K Ultra HD players now arriving there's no doubt this player is behind the curve. It also remains to be seen if the deck can be upgraded to support MQA, which is increasingly looking like the audio codec of tomorrow, Verdic
  • It's easy to enthuse about the UHP-H1, both as a Hi-Res Audio music player and a top-flight Blu-ray player. Image quality is outstanding, even when compared to first-gen 4K UHD Blu-ray players, and it sounds every bit the premium component.Compared to riv...

  • The best Sony Blu-ray player in years is also a fine hi-res audio device, and loaded with features. It's beautifully built, too. No UHD support, but we're not complaining...

  • Superb picture and sound quality, Extensive features, connections and format support, Slick, easy operation and media streaming
  • Not a UHD Blu-ray player, Slightly plasticky for a premium deck, No ITV Player or All 4
  • It may not be a UHD Blu-ray player, but Sony's dazzling disc spinner breathes new life into your Blu-ray collection while effortlessly playing an extensive range of other sources and formats...

  • Faultless disc playback, Great audio performance, Good range of apps with 24p support, Very quiet in use and well-built
  • No Ultra HD Blu-ray support, No UHD streaming services, Limited appeal
  • You would have to be specifically looking at the very niche area of Hi-Res audio playback to even consider the Sony UHP-H1 as a purchase. It does feature very good build quality, excellent replay of DVD and both 2D and 3D Blu-ray disc and a range of impor...

  • Great picture, Great sound, Plenty of features,
  • Nothing for the money,
  • With the UHP-H1, Sony didn't set out to make just a Blu-ray player. The company wanted to make a one-box offering that can juggle multiple tasks and leave you with one convenient box to contend with.We think that mission has been accomplished with gusto...
