  • The S1 Mini from Samsung in 1.8" size proves to be a very small drive with big capacity. The properly wrapped 250 GB fit into most notebook or netbook bags, and do not need an additional power supply. The reading speed is typical for USB-2.0 devices. Idea...

  • Arguably the most unique storage device on the market, Quick enough for routine storage tasks, Smaller than a deck of cards
  • Still priced higher than comparably speced 2.5 inch externals, SpinPoint N3U trades outright speed for small footprint

  • Classy design; small footprint; decent transfer speeds; generous three-year warranty.
  • Very expensive.
  • The Samsung S1 Minis high cost per gigabyte and slow throughput benchmarks overshadow its sexy design and small 1.8-inch footprint. We prefer the Transcend StoreJet, which offers more storage at a fraction of the cost.

  • Design, size, no need for power pack, speedy
  • Expensive per GB compared to 2.5-inch offerings
  • Good on performance and size, but let down against the slightly larger competition when it comes to affordability...

  • With the Spinpoint S1 Samsung presents a very compact and practical external hard drive for on the go. Taking a closer look at such a small hard drive, measuring only 1.8 inch in diameter, youll soon find controversials if you compared it to USB stick...

  • So many storage options, so little time... Samsungs S1 is unutterably cute and with 120GB of storage space on board, its reasonably capacious for file swapping or backing up key files from a laptop or netbook. Of course, its not an enormo file buck...
