  • Super-cool curved display, Notifications work as advertised, Attractive design (if you like ultra-modern)
  • Inaccurate data logging, Confusing, opaque interface functions, Poor battery life
  • Half activity tracker, half smartwatch, the Gear Fit shows Samsung understands addition by subtraction. Sadly, though, its exercise tracking is inaccurate. Let's hope a firmware update fixes this soon....

  • Samsung's Gear Fit leaves us torn. On the one hand, it's the most space-age and glamorous of the wrist-worn wearables we've tested so far, with the genuinely pleasing curved AMOLED display seeing us tapping and swiping for their own sake. It makes Pebbl...

  • Killer style, Extremely light, you can almost forget you are wearing it, Gorgeous curved Super AMOLED display, Rich notification system, Water and dustresistant, you can even shower with it
  • Fitness tracking is not on par with others: exercise tracking and pedometer are less accurate, Compatibility limited to Samsung devices only, Pricey, Heartsensor is dishearteningly slow, Sleep tracking does not yield much usable data
  • The Samsung Gear Fit price is set at the costly $199 (€199 in Europe), nearly double the price of entry-level fitness trackers, and higher than even the pricey $130 Fitbit Force and $150 Nike FuelBand+. It’s also costlier than the $150 Pebble smartwatc...

  • Bright curved touch-screen displa, Comfortable to wea, Accurately tracks movemen, Heart rate monitor
  • Supports only Samsung device, Can't connect to social network, Inconsistent heart rate monitor performanc, No third-party apps
  • Think of the Gear Fit as smartwatch version 1.5. The $199 device demonstrates that Samsung knows there's an appetite for combining the functions of a smartwatch and a fitness tracker in a single device. We especially like the futuristic-chic design and...

  • Beautiful screen, Seamless experience, Notifications
  • Too many charging components, Limited to Samsung devices, Angle of screen is slightly awkward
  • The Samsung Gear Fit is the best fitness wearable to hit the market, and you'll find instant value in the notifications typically only found on a smartwatch...

  • Part smartwatch, part fitness tracker. Supports bicycling. Records sleep. Smartwatch notifications are well implemented. Touch-screen enabled. Very, very pretty.
  • Not functionally independent; requires a supported Samsung device. Pedometer not enabled by default. Touch screen too sensitive to use while in motion. Requires two apps to use fully. Short battery life
  • The gorgeous Samsung Gear Fit is part fitness tracker and part smartwatch, but it's mainly an accessory for recent Samsung devices; if you want either an activity tracker or a smartwatch specifically, you can do better....

  • The Gear Fit has a forward-looking design, many more extras than the average fitness band, and the ability to measure heart rate. Its curved AMOLED display looks fantastic, too
  • The long display means text reads awkwardly on your wrist. The Fit only works with certain Samsung phones. Can't load apps, so you're stuck with the features included. And the price is high, so much so that you might consider a cheaper alternative or the
  • The Samsung Gear Fit is a great-looking wearable that doesn't quite successfully reconcile its dual roles as activity tracker and smartwatch....

  • Great display; easy to use
  • Android only, $249
  • The Samsung Gear Fit is an attractive smartwatch that offers a good balance between form and function. The OLED (organic light-emitting diode) display can be customised and the touch interface is intelligently arranged, so that you are rarely more than a ...
