  • Low price for a huge full HD 1080p 3D image, Good picture quality in 2D and 3D modes, Supports RF and DLP-Link glasses
  • Inflexible mounting/placement options due to limited zoom range and no lens shift, Not quite as strong a performer in 2D mode as some comparably priced options, Slightly noisy
  • The Optoma HD33 is one of the few full HD 1080p 3D projectors on the market for less than $2,500 - it actually sells for under $1,500. Although the lack of lens shift and lack of extended zoom capabilities restrict its placement, you can work around t...

  • Sharp HD; negligible DLP ‘rainbow’ colour fringing; keystone correction; effective 3D presentation,
  • No onboard audio system; a little noisy; not too bright,

  • The HD33's 2D mode calibrated quite well, although the black level was fairly high at the image size I used (16:9, 76 inches wide). A larger screen would help this, and there's enough brightness headroom, even in STD lamp mode, to fill such a screen. Oth...

  • Abstract:  A couple years ago, Optoma redefined the projector market by introducing a 1080p model for under $1000. That was unheard of. What's equally unheard of is a 3D projector under $3000 - except that Optoma has now broken down that barrier again, too. And t...

  • The Optoma HD33 is a great projector with a lot of great features. There are several models of projectors that Optoma has listed on their web site and the HD33 being listed in about the middle. The HD33 is a perfect projector for home entertainment an...

  • We all know that 3D is suffering through some growing pains, mostly with regard to multiple formats, multiple types of glasses and the annoying lack of standardization in movie theaters. With some cohesion amongst the studios and exhibitors and a more ...

  • Abstract:  Usually when I review of projector, I have previously seen it and had hands on with it at the annual CES show in Vegas the prior January. When Optoma offered me the chance to review a 1080p home theater projector that I hadn’t seen yet, which also happ...

  • Abstract:  Optoma have for years spearheaded the DLP projector market both as an OEM manufacturer for brands like Toshiba HP and Dell and under their own label. The release of the new HD33 projector yet again breaks new ground by making a full HD 3D projector bel...

  • Half the price of most competing 3D projectors. Superb picture quality, especially in 3D. 3D glasses fit comfortably, even over regular glasses
  • No 3D specs included in the box. A bit noisy, especially when switching display modes. Backlit remote is actually too bright to use in a dark room

  • Breakthrough price for 1080p 3D, No video converter needed for 3D with Blu-ray players, cable TV boxes, and the equivalent,
  • Rainbow effect shows just often enough to keep it from being an extraordinary choice,
  • The Optoma HD33 delivers gorgeous 2D and 3D HD images, but shows rainbow artifacts often enough so you should approach it cautiously if you see the rainbow effect easily. ...
