While image quality is there and controls are very responsive, certain important aspects of the P300 are slow: shot-to-shot speed, autofocus and video-recording start. Battery-life is below average as well. The more serious downsides of this digital camer...
Abstract: The Nikon COOLPIX P300 is a stylish compact camera with a remarkably powerful f/1.8 lens, starting at 24mm (35mm equivalent) with 4.2x optical zoom. High Refraction Index glass further ensures sharp images with high contrast. Combined with its powerfu...
I really wanted to like the P300. Right size, fast 24mm lens, no frills and gimmicks, good price. But it's not a compact I tend to reach for in practice. The small things all start adding up: very small sensor, no raw, rapid loss of aperture while zoom...

The Nikon Coolpix P300 has a nice lens, shooting modes for every kind of user, a solid design, and it's easy to use
The P300's photos look overprocessed when viewed at full size, and performance feels a bit slow
Snapshooters wanting a little more creative control than the average point-and-shoot offers should check out the Nikon Coolpix P300....

Like: Image quality is very good. The high pixel density led us to expect noise, but it is not a problem. Nor is there any fudging noise reduction at low ISO settings. This is just about the best image quality we have seen from a Nikon compact. Automatic
Dislike: The battery is charged in camera. We prefer a separate charger
The CoolPix P300 is a great camera for sports and low-light photography that will help beginners progress, it’s just lacking in a few key features that would perfect it Overall Our provides the latest photography news, reviews, previews, features and...
