Performs well at long distances, Good setup interface,
Poor link stability at all distances, Below-average speeds at close range
Great range; decent speed; affordable; WPS support
Wizard doesnt work for upgrades; long-distance file transfers were a bit slow
The Netgear RangeMax Next Wireless-N is the companys basic 802.11n router, and covers all the basics well. Its not blazing fast but it offers decent speed, great range and a lot of useful features...
Abstract: In this review, well look at Netgears "entry level" draft 11n router, the WNR834B. Since Netgear has tried to make the 834B and its gigabit sibling the WNR854T (reviewed here) as similar as possible in function and form, I wont be spending a lot of ...

Among the Netgear WNR834Bs benefits are satisfying maximum throughput, a slick design, simple setup, comprehensive documentation, and tight security capabilities.
The Netgear WNR834B is one of the more expensive new Draft N routers around, and it takes a big speed hit in mixed-mode environments. Also, you cant adjust its antennas, since theyre located inside the case.
Though its maximum throughput is solid and its speed at long range is respectable, the Netgear WNR834Bs mixed-mode speed is not. Save your cash until more Draft N routers make it through CNET Labs.
Zippy 802.11g performance, excellent range, easy to set up and use
Slower 802.11n performance than we were expecting, Wi-Fi Multimedia Mode didnt seem to work on our test router The Final Word Its got good range and can transfer files quickly, but its not a major step up from existing 802.11g routers. Its not wort...
Its got good range and can transfer files quickly, but its not a major step up from existing 802.11g routers. Its not worth upgrading to this router if youre already using a decent 802.11g router, but if youre in the market for a new router anyway...
