Maneuvered excellently around obstacles, Excellent pickup on bare floors, Good pickup along wall edges, The battery fully charged in 1 to 3 hours, The controls were intuitive, which made it very easy to use, Fall prevention sensors stop robot from falling
The performance on our low pile carpet was poor, The filter was somewhat difficult to clean
The $600 BotVac 85 outperformed the other Neato models we've tested and offers more robust accessories and features
Its $600 price tag is definitely verging on high-end and there's still no remote control
Neato improved on its already-impressive robot vacuums with the BotVac line. Roomba 870 fans might find that Neato's BotVac 85 offers similar features and performance, but you get more accessories (like three filters rather than the 870's two) and much s...

No-hands cleaning, systematic in its approach, auto-charges, gets close to edge of rooms
Can get tangled in wires or toys, can't do the stairs, not cheap, won't remove 100 per cent of dirt
Where the Neato Botvac 85 works really well is in rooms that aren't always cluttered and with plenty of access. It does a good job of cleaning up to the edges, although don't expect it to do the stairs - so you'll still need some kind of back-up vac...
