  • On the whole, the MSI P55-GD80 is a board for desktop PC enthusiasts with its long list of features and simple over-clocking. It is priced alright but MSI has not targeted the mainstream market with this model, leaving that role for lower-priced board...

  • Performance, OC Genie, Crossfire AND SLI support, Features, VSwitch and VCheck
  • Performance of the i5 750 with OC Genie
  • MSI has managed to package a great performing motherboard with one of the best bundles I've ever seen. The motherboard worked flawlessly in my use, and regarding the max Base-clock I can't be sure if this motherboard was the limiting factor or my...

  • Abstract:  More is not better as MSI proved with the GD80. Three slots are not a wise option with just the P55 chipset, which limits the third PCIe 2.0 x16 slot at x2 speed. Also more phases don't help the board. It does not improve overclocking and increases power-consumption. So for real triple Crossfire or SLI operation the new Trinity will be a better option but at..

  • While the P55 sports itself as the budget minded upgrade, I would state that performance, at least with the MSI P55-GD80, is still very much there. Add to that a very full offering and your budget solution doesn't feel, well, budget like. While the MS...

  • MSI P55-GD80 is an outstanding high-end motherboard for the socket 1156 platform, with tons of advanced features: three x16 PCI Express slots (although the third one works at x4 and the first two work at x8 when more than one video card is installed), ...

  • When I first cast eyes on the MSI P55-GD80 I was astounded by the very attractive design. So much so I found it hard to believe it had arrived from the MSI stable. The design bods have worked wonders with the aesthetics of the board which is easily one o...

  • Abstract:  That the board is trailing the UD6 in the ultimate overclocking performance tests is a fact, but not a shame. I'm still convinced that the clock per volt ratio of this motherboard is absolutely excellent and I think this is actually a good choice for those..

  • MSI has built good motherboards for years, but it has been a long time since it built a great motherboard. The P55-GD80 breaks that trend. From what we have seen with our GD-80 and a retail Core i5-750, the MSI P55-GD80 fits our expectations of a great...

  • It really is rare that I am as impressed as I am now with a motherboard like shown in this review. And props to MSI for that, they did their homework as from beginning to end the motherboard is exemplary. The GD80 has so many additional features that ...
