  • Puts your television on any broadband-connected PC. Works with Windows Media Centers DVR functionality. Connects wirelessly to home networks. Decent video quality.
  • Interference from other wireless networks and/or WEP encryption can cause freezes and signal dropouts. Only supports WEP wireless security. Software not ready for prime time. Windows XP-only (Mac and mobile versions on the way). HD input doesnt work yet.
  • The Monsoon Multimedia Hava Wireless HDs wireless connectivity and Media Center recording ability make it more convenient than the Slingbox—but only if you can deal with its major shortcomings....

  • Only compatible with Windows PCs (so far); promised HD support has yet to be activated; software and remote control options arent as polished or thorough as those on the Slingbox; recording function and Media Center streaming doesnt work outside a LA...
  • Its a little rough around the edges, but the Hava Wireless HDs combination of built-in wireless and Windows Media Center integration makes it one of the more promising Slingbox competitors. Price range: $179.00
