  • 320 gigs of storage for your sensitive data, secured with NSAlevel encryption — you can't so much as view a thumbnail without punching the proper numerical code into the keypad. Sturdy build.
  • Setting up and changing pass codes is a chore. Disconnecting drive is tricky on some operating systems (cough, Vista, cough). Wildly expensive compared with regular drives of similar capacity — but if you need this much security, MI5 is probably foo...

  • Abstract:  I’m sure we all have some data we’d like to squirrel away somewhere. Something you’d perhaps like to be only accessible to yourself. There are many ways to do this, but wouldn’t you prefer the security of a drive with an actual PIN pad on it? Well, whe...

  • Full disk encryption, Fast read speed, Classic ThinkPad design
  • Relatively bulky, Mediocre write speed
  • Priced at $175 ($143 for the 160GB model), the 320GB Lenovo ThinkPad USB Secure Hard Drive is a nicely designed external storage unit that complements ThinkPad notebooks. Certainly, it can be used with other systems, but you’ll have to drag and drop...

  • Security without programs, easy to install, easy to use, light and small
  • more spendy that other drives, useless if you forget your password, no official support for MAC / Linux, not a speedy drive
  • If I had to make any recommendations, it would be that if you have a lot of secure documents that you travel with, the Lenovo SecureHDD makes a lot of sense. If youre looking for a fast external drive that doesnt need that much security under the bel...

  • Dead-simple security. Supports up to ten different users. No software install needed. Mac compatible. Nice keypad feel. Permanently attached USB cable. Intelligently designed carrying pouch.
  • Pricey on a dollar-per-GB basis. No software included. Needs included USB auxiliary power cable for heavy write sessions. Some security experts may consider its numerical code system too simplistic.
  • Styled to work with Lenovos ThinkPads, but works with all PCs and Macs. If you have a need to keep your data secure, it doesnt get simpler than the Lenovo ThinkPad USB Portable Secure Drive....
