  • Plenty of visionaries at work here – on a technical basis this is one of the most creative games out there
  • Way too easy for the seasoned gamer
  • It's rare to see a new RPG franchise hit the market with this level of production values. It's worth checking out for that reason alone...

  • Excellent all-action combat, Rich and flexible character development, Masses of quests and content to get your teeth into
  • Settings and storyline a little uninspired, Doesn't have Skyrim's atmosphere or attention to detail
  • Kingdoms of Amalur doesn't have what it takes to be the next Skyrim, but it's a warmly welcoming and lovable adventure with excellent combat, superb character development and the focus on what most players like best about fantasy RPGs. It's not the kind o...

  • For all its high fantasy, Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning feels as much a product of market research and the boardroom, as it does anyone's imagination. You can't blame Big Hat Studios for sticking within a rigid formula for its first game, of course, e...

  • Fluid combat, Skill and leveling systems, Interesting, unique world
  • Graphics look dated, Grindy MMO quests, Exploration isn't great

  • One of the best-designed but least original games we’ve ever played. If only the quests were more varied, this could have been a classic.More Articles >>> ...

  • Visceral, clever combat. A large, rolling landscape with varied characters and encounters. Clever player-building options that seldom feel forced. A compelling, ably crafted story.
  • A real compendium of other RPG tropes with little innovation bought to the table. Fussy camera angles at times, and cinematic scenes lack polish. Although nothing game-breaking, some minor bugs persist.

  • Abstract:  "Compelling", "engrossing", and "heaps of fun" are a few words that spring to mind when talking about Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning, but none of them do it justice. This has to be one of the hits of 2012 and it's only (barely!) February. So what's so sp...

  • Abstract:  Just moments ago I made the decision to focus my review of Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning – a hugely ambitious open-world fantasy role-playing game conceived and designed by a dream team of collaborators including Bethesda Softworks alum Ken Rolston, co...

  • Abstract:  Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was supposed to be many things. A more mature Fable. An RPG with a superb combat system. A new dawn. Geoff's ultimate wet dream. The list goes on as long as the marketing hype of this title. But is it all that is was made out...

  • Abstract:  I’ll tell you what, all these RPGs that I review just make me look like a lazy ass, especially epic-long action-adventure RPGs like EA’s latest Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Unfortunately though, while there is a ton of content, the game-play is actua...
