  • Abstract:  Video Review: Play music, charge your iPod, wake up and download its own app with the iHome IA5 dock! Kevin Pereira and Chris Hardwick review the new dock with its iHome Plus Sleep app where you can customize alarms, keep track of your sleep habits and...

  • Supports multiple, highly customizable alarms. Nap settings are more convenient than setting and resetting your regular alarm. Tracks sleep habits. Integrates with social networks.
  • There’s only a single onboard alarm for times when your iPhone isn’t present. Companion app was occasionally buggy and prone to freezing. Snooze and On/Off button placement is weird, especially with an iPhone docked. Your Twitter followers don’t care that you just woke up.
  • The iA5 adds some new twists to the venerable alarm clock. We like the customizable alarms offered by the companion app, and the sleep-stats tracking is a great reminder that we should strive for more shut-eye. Twitter and Facebook integration works, ...

  • Abstract:  On its own, iHome’s iA5 is just another iPhone+iPod stereo alarm, and one that doesn’t measure up to the company’s other $99 offerings at that. The good news, however, is that the iA5 is not meant to be used on its own. Install the free iHome+Sleep co...

  • Extremely customizable alarms, Can sync time with iPhone, Backup battery,
  • No radio, App interface sometimes glitchy, Inconvenient unit controls, Bottom Line, The iHome iA5 alarm clock might be just another iPod-dockable speaker unit, were it not for integration with a free companion iPhone app.
  • On its own, the iA5 would be just another iPod-compatible alarm clock—if you don’t have an iPhone or iPod touch, the iA5 isn’t the bedside alarm for you. But the addition of the iHome+Sleep app, despite some interface wonkiness, makes the iA5 a pretty...

  • Can set up to 18 different alarms, Good sounding speaker for its size, Can wake and sleep to favorite music or playlists
  • Only one alarm will work if the iPhone/iPod is not connected, App must be running on iPhone/iPod in order for alarms to fire, Expensive, Must send tweets and facebook posts manually

  • Small and portable, the application provides so much more than just wake up alarm
  • The display isn't very large and the app must be running for most features
  • The iHome iA5 is a capable alarm clock when working with your iPhone and iPod; and with iHome + Sleep app, it wants to be your sleep companion. The app is handy if you want to check the weather, world news or what’s going on with your friends first th...

  • Above-average sound quality, volume, Unique and powerful feature set, Easy to configure multiple, complex alarms
  • Unreliable: Needs app open for most alarms to sound, No built-in FM radio, Grille obscures LCD display, Cheap construction, Tricky to set up without iPod/iPhone
  • Control by iPhone app makes iHome's iA5 unique and easy to set, but relying on an app to wake you up makes it too flaky for an alarm clock....

  • Works with iHome's iPhone app to deliver a rich alarm clock feature set, including weather updates and Twitter/Facebook messaging; very customizable alarms
  • Take away the iPhone app, and the iA5 is a basic iPod speaker that's a little more expensive than it should be, app doesn't automatically launch when you dock your device, brightness adjustments are manual, not automatic, large footprint for an alarm cloc
  • The iHome iPhone app converts the otherwise basic iA5 into a feature-loaded alarm clock.

  • Abstract:  Now iHome’s iA5 App-Enhanced Alarm Clock Speaker System for iPhone lists quite a few features, but my favorite isn’t one of the bullet items. iHome perhaps left it out because they didn’t want to insult potential buyers, but I can take it. I don’t pre...

  • The iHome iA5 App-Enhanced Alarm Clock is a very nice alarm clock speaker dock with a cool app that is great for those who want to tell everyone when they wake and go to sleep on social networks. It has a few caveats, but mostly the iHome iA5 App-Enhan...
