  • Very good level of performance, Actual VGA not QVGA graphics, Good looking 3.7" screen, Both CF & SD memory slots well placed, Low price (refurbished unit)
  • Mediocre battery life, Questionable memory card compatibility, Mediocre sound
  • At this point Dell is no longer making the Axim, so users looking for lots of manufacturer hand holding are not likely to receive that here. If you are a do-it-yourself type of guy, though, most all the support you should need is available on the inter...

  • Large, bright touch screen display, Bluetooth and Wireless capable, Easy to use right out of the box, Useful front and side buttons, Comes with many Microsoft applications and other useful software, Decent battery life
  • Virtual keyboard is too small for fingers, No WPA2 support
  • Overall, the Dell Axim x51v is a solid handheld PDA that is packed with features. The unit sports a very nice VGA screen, has both Bluetooth and wireless capability, and is a great size.

  • The Dell Axim x51v is a sweet machine. It is most appropriate for high-tech business users. Although the gaming, video, and music options make it one powerful toy, the price tag would make me more inclined to recommend a PSP as an entertainment device....

  • Windows Mobile 5.0, 256MB ROM, VGA Screen, Dual Memory Slots (CF/SD), Better Battery Life than X50V, Intel 2700G graphics accelerator, Same Sexy Design as X50 series, Nice bundle of included software
  • Battery life was a dissapointment, No Jog Dial, Little need to upgrade. With the ability to upgrade X50v to WM5, current X50v owners only real gain is 128MB of extra storage, Minor issues with WM5 (not really Dells fault)
  • All in all, a very impressive device. The graphics, especially in the 3D department, is as good as it gets. The software in the bundle is quite extensive and includes both full and trial versins of some nifty applications, including games. Any downfal...

  • Abstract:  Originally published on Mobile Pipeline Older Pocket PCs and Windows Mobile operating systems had a lot of "gotchas" that limited the attractiveness of those devices. One that easily comes to mind, for instance, was that all your data and personal sett...

  • Abstract:  Once again, Dell is first to market with a Pocket PC running the latest version of Windows Mobile 5.0. Just as their Axim X30 was the first Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition device to hit the US market, the X51 and X51v are the first WM 5 PDAs. And j...
