  • Abstract:  How does one come off form a reviewing a bloody action filled game staring a sexy vampire? Apparently by reviewing an innocent Halloween trick or treat themed rpg staring young kids. That's right Killatia is reviewing the cult classic Double Fine develope...

  • Costume Quest is a short game at a budget price, and it never overstays its welcome. Each level looks quite different than the others and each will take about an hour and a half to yield all its secrets. If the game were an hour longer, it may have fe...

  • Abstract:  Allow me, if you will, to pose a rather odd set of questions: When you were little, and you bought a new pair of shoes did you immediately run around the store or leap through the air because you believed these new footwear items would make you faster ...

  • Abstract:  After having high hopes for Tim Schafer’s Brutal Legend and, in turn, being disappointed with the end product, it’s safe to say that any claims of caution with Costume Quest are valid. As an RPG mashed with an adventure title, Costume Quest does enoug...

  • Abstract:  The first time I saw Costume Quest, it was late summer, and the only thing on my mind was my upcoming vacation. Then a gentleman from THQ pulled me over to the console running Double Fine’s latest, as yet unannounced, video game. Before the man with th...

  • Abstract:  Tim Schafer’s Double Fine studio hasn’t met with too much commercial success since their start-up in early 2000, despite their development of clever, quirky, and critically acclaimed games such as Psychonauts and Brutal Legend. With such an unfortunate...

  • Abstract:  Let's get one thing straight, Costume Quest isn't exactly a complicated, nor challenging, RPG. However, it's a whole lot of fun, and pretty much what I'd love to see developer Double Fine do from this point on. That doesn't mean focusing on RPG's, no, ...

  • Abstract:  Don't let the costumes fool you, these kids are dangerous At its core, the downloadable Costume Quest is a game about imagination. It's about what it's like to be a kid, put on a blue cardboard outfit, and imagine that you're a huge, awesome robot. O...

  • Excellent art design, witty dialogue, and a wide variety of entertaining collectibles. Musical score is both atmospheric and catchy. Combat is balanced enough to consistently remain challenging, despite some very simplistic RPG elements.
  • Battle system could've benefited from a little more depth. Fixed camera occasionally makes it hard to navigate certain areas.

  • Abstract:  Costume Quest is a rudimentary, turn-based role-playing game. There aren't any multitiered tactical options; there aren't layers of leveling systems or branching skill trees; and there aren't lists of equipment with granular attributes. There isn't eve...
