  • Youve taken a bunch of pictures of the kids and things you saw on vacation. Now you are home and its time to view and print your images. Unfortunately, the kids have red eyes and all of the scenic shots have the horizon hopelessly slanted. Let Corel...

  • Abstract:  Paint Shop Pro (PSP) has come a long way since its humble beginnings as a low-cost shareware photo editing program. Billed as “the ideal choice for people who want extraordinary photos,” Corel’s Paint Shop Pro Photo XI retains its humble...

  • Abstract:  I have used Paint Shop Pro since it’s very early days of being a shareware product. It has come a long way since then, it is now owned by Corel and also has a slight name change.

  • Abstract:  Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI for WindowsPaint Shop Pro has frequently been lauded as the affordable Photoshop alternative, but in the past I didnt feel it measured up. Since version 8, however, Paint Shop Pro has become more mature and refined. The...

  • The picture organiser is seamlessly integrated with the main program, One-step fixes for all common picture faults, plus a host of fascinating special effects, The advanced features are hidden away, but are there when youre ready for them
  • The Plus features of the ancillary Snapfire program are disabled after 30 days, Annoying text-editing function, Verdict, Corel Paint Shop Pro Photo XI is probably the best image-editing program you can buy at this price, and some would say at any price...

  • Abstract:  We took a quick look at the trial download of Paintshop Pro in March and now we have had a chance to live with the licensed copy for a few weeks. This alternative to Photoshop Elements offers one-click fixes for the person who can...

  • Our Nikon RAW files opened instantly in Paintshop and we assume that other camera RAW formats will also open. Of course this misses the point of RAW, which is to adjust the image before opening in an editing program, but it is still a handy feature. Th...
  • When an edited file is saved as a JPEG the compression setting is hidden in another Options dialogue, and even that doesn’t show the file size. Choosing Export Optimiser does the job, but that is an odd way to do something as simple as save a file.
  • At this price point Paintshop Pro Photo X1 is the photo editor to buy. It has its gimmicks but they don’t obscure the serious application underneath. And being a leaner program than Photoshop CS it is lightning fast, so for the RAM battlers on 512MB...

  • Paintshop Pro has always been excellent value for money and it has just got better. There is nothing cut-down about the program. It will operate in auto mode or give the user full control.
  • The interface is not quite as elegant or as intuitive as Photoshop -- but that is a matter of learning by using.
  • This application can be downloaded in trial form from the Corel web site. The trial is fully functional but time limited to 30 days, which is long enough to get a good feel for the program. For the digital photographer the only reason to pay for Adobe P...
