  • Dye-sub printing produces continuous tones and colors; includes retractable USB cable.
  • Paper type for 4-by-6-inch prints limited to Canon postcards; lacks advanced image-editing features; dark prints appear flat; less intuitive operation than comparable printers.
  • The Selphy CP740 prints decent 4-by-6 inch photos, but overall its irksome limitations outweigh its benefits. Canon’s decision to continue giving consumers the option to choose between ink-jet and dye-sub printers is admirable. But the...

  • Low initial cost. Fast. Relatively low cost per photo. Reasonably high-quality photos.

  • The Canon Selphy CP740 strikes a balance between speed, output quality, convenience features, price, and running costs....

  • Inexpensive, Reasonable cost per print
  • Slow; photos can look overly dark, Needs front and rear clearance to print
  • Its slow and a bit clunky, but prints look smooth (albeit dark). Cost per print is reasonable.

  • Inexpensive; good quality prints; very easy to use; retractable USB cable/connector is a nice touch.
  • Prints are a bit slower than the competitions; very limited onboard photo-editing features; photo colors need a bit of improvement.
  • The Canon Selphy CP740 offers a decent feature package and quality prints for an inexpensive compact photo printer. Casual snapshooters will be satisfied with this, but users who need more features should look elsewhere.

  • Abstract:  If you take a lot of photos it can be a real hassle getting them developed, and not everyone wants a big A4 printer taking up space in the home. For many people the answer is a dedicated 6x4in photo printer, which is compact, economical and extremel...

  • Abstract:  We thought it was an iPod till it started printing stuff. The Selphy CP740 produces prints of reasonable quality, and refills arent too pricey. Most current inkjetS print photos very well, but you either have to cut them out yourself or fiddle aroun...
