  • Ease of use, price, optical resolution, FARE Level 3 processing, great scans and software package
  • Slow on higher resolution scans that include the full FARE processing
  • Canon’s CanoScan 8600F is a scanner that provides high quality results at a great price and its software package is (almost) worth the price tag alone. Recommended. Login or register to post comments Computing 4800x9600ppi 48bit 8600F A4 A4 CCD scann...

  • Built-in transparency adapter; speedy scans; very good scan quality.
  • Slow to warm up; photo scans a bit dark.
  • Although it was a little slow to warm up, and its photo scans were a touch dark, the CanoScan 8600F proved to be a very good all-around scanner and should definitely be considered if you are looking for a high-quality photo and document scanner.

  • Ease of use, optical resolution, FARE Level 3 processing, great scans, and software package
  • Slow on higher resolution scans that include the full FARE processing
  • The CanoScan 8600F is a fast A4 scanner with built-in Film Adapter Unit (FAU) that can provide pro quality scans quickly and easily. An excellent bundled software package makes it an even more attractive proposition
