  • Abstract:  The EOS 80D is a step up from the consumer-oriented EOS 750D and 760D, with a bigger viewfinder, more physical controls, a weather sealed body, longer battery life, faster performance and more sophisticated autofocus...

  • Great videographer's toolIf you're an amateur or even a pro videographer, the Canon EOS 80D is a great tool for the job. While it's definitely going to show its age a lot faster than its competitors, the camera stands on its own-it's competent, complete...

  • As with previous additions to Canon's XXD line up, the 80D builds on the strengths of its predecessors, offering enthusiast photographers a powerful APS-C DSLR that's easy to use and gives great results. What's different this time is that Canon has added...

  • Excellent 24-megapixel stills, Best DSLR autofocusing for movie capture, 45-point autofocus system, Headphone jack
  • 4K video
  • The 80D is a proper upgrade to the 70D, and retains the Editors' Choice. It may not look different, but there are significant improvements under the hood, namely the autofocusing, superior stills, and Full HD videos that are top-notch. The 80D is a nice s...

  • The Canon EOS 80D is fast, and if you play with the settings can produce excellent photo and video quality
  • The automatic white balance isn't very good, and it doesn't have a terribly broad set of features
  • With better performance and photo quality than the 70D, the Canon EOS 80D is worth the upgrade, but it's got a lot of competition for the money...

  • The 80D isnt as revolutionary as the 70D was when it was released. Nevertheless, its better than its predecessor in a number of areas, including the accuracy of focusing both in and out of live view. The 80D is more responsive at focusing in low light t...

  • Continuous autofocus unparalleled at this level, 100% optical finder (finally), fast performance and significant buffer, decent image quality throughout, vari-angle touchscreen (with speedy live view)
  • No 4K video, no second SD slot, viewfinder flare from direct light sources, off-centre 1-point AF not always perfect, no speed increase over 70D, finish looks plasticky
  • The Canon EOS 80D takes almost everything that was missing or not quite up to scratch in the already impressive 70D and sets it right. Save for a second SD card slot and absence of 4K video there's not a whole lot missing in this mid-range master...

  • 24Mp Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor, 110 JPEGs or 25 raw file bursts, New AF systems
  • No increase in maximum frame rate (but it is 7fps)
  • On paper this looks like a healthy upgrade from the 70D and a great choice for enthusiast photographers. It's going to be an interesting one to test when we get a full production sample...

  • Abstract:  Canon has just introduced a new camera aimed at enthusiasts and advanced users. This is the new Canon EOS 80D, a model that comes to replace the EOS 70D with a new APS-C sensor size with higher resolution, improved system approach and a viewfinder with 10...

  • Canon EOS 80D – Image Quality Canon has used a 24-million-pixel sensor before, in the EOS 750D and 760D. However, these two models don't feature the 80D's Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor. The jump to a 24-million-pixel sensor is good news for those who like fre...
