  • Abstract:  Canon EOS 80D Review – On paper, the Canon EOS 80D with 18-135mm IS lens kit is equipped with a lot of goodies. It weighs 730 grams (body only) and has a 24.2 Megapixels APS-C CMOS sensor. The packaging comes with the Canon EOS 80D body, the lens, camera...

  • Great image quality, Solidly built, Easy to use,
  • Included lens lets the camera down a little, Fiddly to pair with smartphone, Not easily portable,

  • The Canon EOS 80D is fast, and if you play with the settings can produce excellent photo and video quality
  • The automatic white balance isn't very good, and it doesn't have a terribly broad set of features
  • With better performance and photo quality than the 70D, the Canon EOS 80D is worth the upgrade, but it's got a lot of competition for the money...

  • This is a Canon, so still photos are fine, both JPEG and RAW and high ISO performance is outstanding. It is the video that is a revelation. Simply touch the critical feature of the subject on the touch screen and the camera will track that spot flawlessly
  • Simple vertical tilting screens work better than fully articulated
  • The super fast focus makes this camera a joy to use. It is so responsive it feels almost thought-controlled. The new lens works so well with the body that it is an almost indispensable part of the combination. If video is not a priority then the EOS 70D i...

  • Photographers looking to step up from an entry-level EOS DSLR to one with more serious imaging capabilities should consider the EOS 80D as a possible option, although (like other DSLR cameras) it's not the best choice for anyone with a serious interest in...

  • 24Mp Dual Pixel CMOS AF sensor, 110 JPEGs or 25 raw file bursts, New AF systems
  • No increase in maximum frame rate (but it is 7fps)
  • On paper this looks like a healthy upgrade from the 70D and a great choice for enthusiast photographers. It's going to be an interesting one to test when we get a full production sample...

  • Enthusiast photographers want a camera that works for them, that lets them access the most important features quickly and adjust settings effortlessly. The 80D provides a quick route to the most commonly used features and allows a good degree of customisa
  • The downside to an advanced autofocus system is that it's complex and getting the best from it takes some input from the photographer. In more advanced cameras like the 7D Mark II, 5D Mark III and 1DX Mark II, Canon has tried to help with the Case Studies
  • It's bigger than the average compact system camera and its viewfinder can't preview images as they will be captured, but the Canon 80D is an excellent choice of camera for enthusiast photographers. It has a high quality sensor that is able to capture a go...

  • Abstract:  The Canon EOS 80D is more than just another SLR. Canon has brought a camera to the market that incorporates many innovative functions for photo and video. The key feature is Canon's Dual Pixel CMOS AF which enables fast focussing during live view and vide...

  • Competent all-rounder, Excellent autofocus in video capture
  • Sometimes overexposes high-contrast scenes in JPEG mode, No 4K video capture, Still image autofocus not the most reliable
  • The Canon EOS 70D earned itself a five-star review at Expert Reviews, not because of any specific stand-out feature but for its elegance and competency across the board. The 80D has echoes of the same traits, but three years on and with the 70D still avai...
