  • Abstract:  The long awaited Bioshock has the distinct honor of being the first non-sports title to usher in the long awaited holiday gaming rush. As the spiritual successor to the System Shock series, Bioshock is a highly anticipated title because of its blend of in...

  • Abstract:  The FPS genre is dominated by military shooters with a huge rivalry playing out between the current king of the genre, Call of Duty, and the surprising up-and-coming contender, Battlefield. The genre offers more than beautiful action set pieces that ma...

  • Amazing graphics and sound; good story told through audio tapes and radio conversations; excellent gameplay that gives you tons of options for any situation; good weapon balance
  • No multiplayer, Story, 2K Games, BioShock tells the story of a plane crash survivor that somehow ends up in the underwater city of Rapture. Rapture was designed in the 1950’s to be a utopia, but drugs and greed have twisted the inhabitants into monsters and turned the city into a run down nightmare. To spell out any more of the story would spoil much of what makes BioShock great, so I'll

  • Original, compelling story; great graphics; innovative world.
  • Annoying hacking minigame; combat can be clunky.
  • Bioshock was originally released on other platforms before the famed 2007 Fall launch period where several critically acclaimed first person shooters were release (Call of Duty 4, Crysis, and Team Fortress 2 included) but Bioshock never seemed to get ...

  • As of this review’s publish date, 2K is already in deep development of Bioshock 2: Sea of Dreams, a direct sequel where a Big Sister will be introduced, and the “prototype” Big Daddy will be the main playable character. The game will also feature Mult...

  • Beautiful visuals with some of the best art direction and water effects you’ll find in any video game; Plasmids and the way they interact with the environment and the AI make combat very versatile and fun all throughout the entire game; Gripping and...
  • Lack of variety in enemies; Hacking minigame becomes repetitive and tiresome for how much you have to play it; Replay value solely dependent on how much you’re willing to go through the game again.
  • Like Half-Life 2 before it, BioShock is a breath of fresh air in a genre that has been saturated with the same old settings, the same old abilities, and the same old lame storylines that mostly serve as just a reason to shoot things up. Now, would you ...

  • Abstract:  You creep through a hallway of twisted art deco, noting blood-spattered writing on the floor. You are paranoid by every sound and movement, sensing an ominous presence. As you step, you hear it. Clink. You walk a bit more. Clink. No, it’s not you. C...

  • Abstract:  Most people spend their lives waiting. We wait in traffic or days on end for a phone call from that girl at the bar. Some would even say that they're just waiting to go to sleep while they let their TV screens pass the time for them so they can go to w...
