  • Asus has a reputation for building reliable laptops, and the durable U31JG is no exception. It outperforms and outlasts many comparably priced ultraportable laptops, including Asus's own U33Jc. The U31JG isn't optimal for multimedia use, but if you're...

  • Discrete graphics card, Lightweight, with great battery life
  • Display has poor viewing angles and too much glare, Mediocre keyboard and touchpad
  • The U31JG is ideal for getting work done on the road, but movie and music buffs should look elsewhere. ...

  • Solid graphics performance for 13-incher, More than 6 hours of battery life, Runs relatively cool, Accurate webcam, Brushed aluminum lid
  • Display has narrow vertical viewing angles, Keyboard flexes, Slow boot time
  • The ASUS U31JG-A1 doesn't break a lot of new ground. It's just a solid thin-and-light notebook that provides a welcome one-two punch of graphics performance and long battery life. We just wish ASUS could take the flex out of its keyboards. In this pric...

  • The Asus U31JG-A1 is a slim little laptop that lasts all day on one charge. Features like Bluetooth and battery-life are great, but a flawed trackpad mars the overall package. Buy it now...

  • Lengthy battery life, Sturdy, stylish chassis, Two-year warranty
  • Some design quibbles, Outdated processor, No backlit keyboard, No USB 3.0 ports
  • This machine is a serviceable thin-and-light laptop, but with Sandy Bridge-based models flooding the scene, it's hard recommending this model, which is based on an older processor. ...

  • Thin and light, 7hours of battery life, Good performance,
  • Too much keyboard flex, Poor speakers, MSRP too high,
  • The ASUS U31JG is a reasonable pick amongst 13.3-inch notebooks. It has more than enough performance for everyday tasks plus some gaming with over seven hours of battery life on the side. The build quality isn't the greatest but meets our expectations. The keyboard has too much flex but still manages to provide a satisfactory typing experience. Those looking for a more gaming-oriented notebook sh

  • Battery life: 5H45 video playback, Excellent CPU performance, Keyboard and touchpad comfortable to use, Matte panel, Quiet
  • Panel with very low contrast (234:1) and inaccurate colours, Finish not great
  • It's really a shame that the finish on this model doesn't do justice to the performance under the hood and the excellent battery life (5h45). Poor finish aside, this is an excellent ultra portable laptop....
