  • Good keyboard with decent travel, clicky feedback, and an RGB backlight, 130W RTX 3070 onboard, Uses liquid metal for the CPU, There are two M.2 PCIe slots, and two RAM SODIMM slots in dual channel, and Wi-Fi 6, Great battery life for a gaming laptop, 300
  • Lacks an SD card reader and Thunderbolt support, GPU warms up pretty quickly during gaming, Tiny Arrow keys
  • Another day has passed, and another RTX 3070 machine has gone through our office. This time, it was the most potent of them all – the 130W version. As a matter of fact, it might be the most powerful mobile GPU, before the RTX 3080 arrives. We saw a simila...

  • Abstract:  Whoa folks—don't head for the parking lot because this ball game ain't over yet. Sure, you've been watching Intel's older 10th-gen H-class CPUs get blasted off the mound all afternoon by Team Ryzen, but the coach just gave the signal and Intel's new rooki...

  • Good short burst Ryzen 9 5900HX performance, Strong 115W RTX 3070 performance, Smooth gaming for the 1080p 300Hz screen, even at high refresh rates, Outstanding battery life, Solid cooling performance, Easily switchable Armoury Crate performance operating
  • Long duration Ryzen 9 5900HX performance seems sub-par, Overall connectivity should be better – no WiFi 6E, 2.5GbE, or HDMI 2.1, No webcam or SD card reader, ASUS’ pre-installed software is annoying (McAfee?! Seriously?!),
  • In the ROG STRIX G17, ASUS has delivered a well-specced laptop that packs a hefty punch in terms of raw performance. The Ryzen 9 5900HX CPU and RTX 3070 Laptop GPU in its 115W form complement one another well, and the combined 32GB of DDR4 is good to see...

  • smaller, lighter and cleaner looking than before, friendlier materials than on the Scar 17, competent 300 Hz IPS screen option, good inputs, powerful hardware and solid performance across the board, quiet on Turbo, at sub45 dB at headlevel, 90W battery an
  • no cardreader, Thunderbolt, camera or biometrics, the F1F12 writting on the keys is not backlit, panellit ROG logo on the lid, can't be swtiched off, still high CPU/GPU temperatures with games and demanding loads (can be addressed on Manual), no MUX switc
  • The 2021 ASUS ROG Strix G17 drops some of the fancy materials and features available with the higher-tier Scar 17 lineup, but doesn't compromise on the performance, screen, IO, or inputs, and sells for significantly less. Thus, I'd expect this to be on ma...

  • An ROG lineup with AMD and NVIDIA is a good sight for the eyes, Impressive performance and keeps things breezy, Brings the last generation Strix Scar design and everything to the G, Good display and overalls, Good specification and no crippled GPU variant
  • Might be pricey for some, Doesn't come with customizable capability as the Scar
  • The thing about the new ROG Strix G17 is that, given the current situation, it's the only RTX machine you can ever own with unnecessary markups or be in a situation where you are unable to secure a GPU at all. For what its worth, the specs you see above d...
