  • Amazing display, high performance across the board, excellent graphics performance, excellent design
  • Good value for the tech but still expensive in current allinone market, can't be used in Target Display Mode, software required to take full advantage of 5K display
  • If there was ever a headline waiting to be written it was "Retina iMac more powerful than Mac Pro". But that would be for shock value. The truth is that they offer different strengths to different people, but the Retina iMac is nonetheless a monster of a...

  • Great design makes for a slim 27-inch screen all-in-one, huge 5K resolution is ideal for video/photo/design work, customisable powerhouse with RAM access to rear
  • Ports all to rear, not all applications will render resolution optimised, can become expensive as you'll want the RAM for heavyweight tasks, noise when fan kicks in
  • The iMac with Retina 5K display is a great looking and powerful workhorse machine that, thanks to its super-high resolution, aligns itself with current professional practice and makes the desktop all-in-one relevant again. We're sad to see our revie...

  • It's certainly not the home computer that it used to be, but the iMac with Retina 5K Display will have designers, photographers and video-editors chomping at the bit. Most of them won't actually need the 5K display and will be able to work perfectly well...

  • The iMac Retina 5K is indeed a stellar display with gobs and gobs of resolution. But the best uses for all that resolution involve working with visual content, not viewing it. It's a computer with a display for editors, designers, and photographers. If yo...

  • 5K display; Workstation performance; Thunderbolt 2; Upgradeable RAM
  • Price jumps up quickly when configuring
  • It's expensive, but the iMac's strong performance and unparalleled 5K display make it ideal for design, photography and video-editing work....

  • World's first 5K display, Stunningly sharp and detailed images, Powerfully equipped, Super thin and stylish design
  • Games crash or are unstable at 5K resolution – for now, Not the best graphics chip, Stutters when scrolling through Web pages, Mouse and keyboard need updates
  • The iMac with Retina Display has the best display we've ever laid eyes on. It's also powerful as hell across the board, and stands on its on (for the time being, anyway). The absence of 5K content leaves us wondering what need this display fills, however...

  • The new 27-inch Apple iMac adds a stunning 5K display for not much more than last year's high-end model. The design, while not updated, remains the gold standard for all-in-one desktops
  • Except for the new screen and a different GPU, the components are essentially unchanged from last year's version. The high starting price only gets you a mid-level Core i5 processor
  • Apple skips 4K and goes directly to what the company calls a 5K display in this expensive, extravagant all-in-one iMac desktop that will appeal to photo and video professionals -- or anyone else looking for the best possible screen resolution....

  • Still a great design, Incredible 5K Retina screen, Solid performance with Skylake chipset and discrete GPU, Rechargable keyboard an improvement
  • Not ideal for gaming
  • The iMac is still a winner in terms of design, but there's only one real talking point with this desktop, and that's the 5K screen. It's hugely impressive, even at first glance, and will make graphic designers, video editors and camera buffs froth at t...

  • Truly amazing screen, Does high, end editing smoothly, Still a very small footprint
  • Only 8GB of RAM standard, Basic GPU may be limiting for some pros, Price is quite high
  • The Retina iMac really is a sight to behold, and works beautifully. It'll cost you, but it looks like something special for the money...
