  • As an open world ship trading and combat game, Windward excels tremendously. It's fun, has witty banter, includes the ability to team up with friends in co-op and lets you enjoy the Golden Age of Sail as if you too were a part of the 17th Century. The mos...

  • Core mechanics and visuals are functional
  • More sleepinducing than a handful of Benadryl, Game's initial area dissuades you from spending any more time with the game, Game swings wildly from blindfold easy to aggravatingly and arbitrarily difficult, Useful information is rarely presented in an int

  • Abstract:  Since it's a sandbox game, Windward doesn't really have a story, but there are plenty of overarching goals that tend to act like catalysts to keep me moving. The goals include making money, capturing cities and structures, exploring and fighting pirates...

  • Abstract:  All games are ultimately in the business of a selling a fantasy. The best ones conjure up a combination of presentation and mechanics that lets you imagine, for a few fleeting hours, what it would be like to live a different life: a criminal, a superhero,...

  • Easy to pick up and play, Good Art Style and Relaxing Music
  • Lack of quest variety, All zones look the same, Quick respawning AI means taking over zones becomes a long drawn battle, Heavy noticeable grind
  • Windward demands a lot of time to accomplish very little. Progress is slow and grind heavy. Despite the lack of any complexity in combat or economy, there is slight fun to be had with the game small in short bursts.
