  • Price, Ease Of Installation, Balance Of Speed & Storage Space, Top Of The Charts Performance, Intelligent Independent SSHD Algorithms, 3 Year Warranty
  • Larger SSD Portion Would Be Nice
  • We like the Western Digital 4TB SSHD for its speed and innovation as well as its massive storage space. Like most we aren't going to go out and grab four 1TB SSD's any time soon. Now we can see springing $100 bucks for a fast SSD and stacking the West...

  • Abstract:  I’m not much of a tech reviewer as the speed at which computers are evolving is measured within the nanosecond range. When I was told that I should invest in a Solid State Drive or at minimum a Solid State Hybrid Drive, I just laughed it off as...

  • Hybrid Drive, Cost Effective, ThreeYear Warranty, Good enough large file transfer speedcompressed and noncompressed, Suitable for those who want a bit better response time with larger storage
  • 8GB NAND isn't something large in this day of age
  • This drive isn't just going to be something that gamers will be interested, it's also those who gene...

  • Runs comparatively cool to touch against other drives, Low vibration and very quiet, NAND management/logic is seamless - no tweaking required, Better speeds than the older 7200rpm drives we tested, Suitable for a boot drive for an entry level system, HTPC
  • Only 2 capacities available for now, a 2TB offering would be nice
  • The WD Blue SSHD 4TB model can be found online as low as AUD$259 and the 1TB version for $129. This seems reasonable for the performance that you get and fits with the upper end of the mainstream components. In comparison, a 4TB WD green drive retails for...

  • Despite the fact that there are only three hard disk drive manufacturers left, you have a lot to choose from when you're looking for a new drive. It is not just about prices either. Though SSDs have outperformed hard drives for a long time now, there are...

  • We are starting this conclusion with the 6TB-drives. The Toshiba MD04ACA 6TB and X300 6TB offer good performance in this segment for a relatively low price, but are clearly audible with noise levels that are nearly at 40 dB(A) when idle. Nevertheless th...

  • The price of the Western Digital Blue SSHD is higher than the competitors. Is it worth it? In a direct comparison with the Seagate Desktop SSHD of the same capacity we can see that it does not perform as well in a lot of different tests. The sequential...

  • When it comes to hard drives, Western Digital and Seagate has been great competitors in the last little while. In fact, in the end of mySeagate Desktop SSHD ST4000DX001 4TBreview a few months ago, I have alluded to the Western Digital Blue SSHD WD40E31X 4...

  • Massive amounts of storage space, Caching does help significantly with loading applications,
  • Expensive, SSD cache isn't as fast or as large as it needs to be,
  • With good transfer speeds and lots of storage space, the WD Blue 4TB SSHD is a good drive on its own, though the SSD portion of the drive could have been better implemented. A larger cache, set to 32GB, would be more ideal for most users. If you want a 4T...
