  • While there are many reasons to just put down the controller in frustration over a half-baked game that may have had too many cooks in the kitchen during its conception, there seems to be just as many reasons to stick around. Trinity Universe is a cha...

  • Trinity Universe is weird. There’s no getting past it. Nippon Ichi Software always manages to release some of Japan’s more eccentric material, and Trinity Universe is right up there with the best of them....

  • Quirky storyline and cast of characters, English and Japanese voice tracks, in-game date/time affect enemies and shop inventory, battle system for novice or pros, dungeon point ranking system, downloadable content (via the Playstation store), offers two distinct story lines, gorgeous character designs and stills, unique weapon upgrade system.
  • Graphics are fairly remedial, settings/dungeon maps are plain and often monotonous, sluggish battle animations, limited magic/special ability system.

  • Abstract:  I felt a bit burned by Cross Edge, so please understand that I went in to this review of Trinity Universe with a bit of cautious optimism and very low expectations. By the time I was finished with the game I can say that I was right to not expect much ...

  • Abstract:  I'm not sure when the game mash-ups started, but I think it all points back to Capcom with their VS. series. Ever since then company crossovers have been happening with greater frequency, and to be perfectly honest these have yielded some great results...

  • Cool character art style; Intriguing mashup of franchises; Battles combo system has nice depth.
  • Dull dungeon designs are disappointing; Wacky, fun premise doesn't carry throughout all areas of gameplay.

  • Abstract:  Trinity Universe is the most absurdly cute RPG that I have ever played, and I’ve played a lot of absurd and cute Japanese games over the years. The overall aesthetic of Trinity Universe is so strange, so utterly removed from the template of Western gam...

  • Good visual style, Dungeon crawling is addictive, Hours and hours of gameplay,
  • Shallow cut scenes, Will only find a niche audience, Battle system slow paced and overcomplicated

  • Eccentric cast's love of violence is infectious, Good battle flow once mastered, Multiple character upgrades are both powerful and optional.
  • Bland dungeons don't meet the same standards as the wacky outer designs, String of similar objectives can be a drag, The 'real' ending requires an FAQ.
  • You can save the Netheruniverse from floating sushi, but not always from repetitious dungeon crawling....

  • Cool character art style, intriguing mash-up of franchises, battles combo system has nice depth
  • Dull dungeon designs are disappointing, wacky, fun premise doesn't carry throughout all areas of gameplay
  • A generally charming role-playing mash-up full of fun characters and witty ideas, Trinity Universe is bogged down by bland and repetitive dungeons that sharply contrast it's otherwise enjoyable tone and atmosphere...
