  • Plenty of storage space, Speedy file transfer performance via USB 2.0, USB bus-powered convenience, Stylish enclosure fits easily into a pocket, Single-button backup/sync function,
  • No Firewire or eSATA support
  • Maxtor pushes the capacity and value envelopes once again with the OneTouch 4 Mini, thanks to a fast 2.5" drive platform and the ability of the drive to operate independently of an external power source. The OneTouch 4 Mini provides a stylish, compell...

  • Fast data transfer. 256-bit encryption. Can fit comfortably in a coat pocket. Five-year warranty.
  • SafetyDrill does not work with Fat32 drives, or Mac OS. Data can be shared, but not synced between Windows Vista and Windows XP machines. Extra power occupies two USB ports.
  • With a more robust software package than its rivals and a cheaper price to boot, the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini remains the external hard drive to beat....

  • The Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini 250 GB External USB 2.0 Hard Drive does make a valiant effort to differentiate itself from all the other mini-hard drives out on the market. It’s chisseled features and well built casing protect it from the elements and ins...

  • Decent transfer speed, Good security software
  • Can’t sync files between XP and Vista
  • For $89.99, the Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini is a good performer. While its write speed could be better, the security options and included software make this drive a better option than most for backing up your digital life on the go. Editors’ Note: This r...

  • Fast write speeds; comes with backup and restore software; compact size makes it easy to tote around; generous warranty.
  • Restore software doesnt work with Macs; backup software is too basic for power users.
  • The Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini is a great option for working on the go, with fast write speeds as well as backup and restore software.

  • Small form factor. Comes with usable dual-head cable. Includes "bare metal" disaster-recovery utility. Comes with Mac OneTouch utility. Five-year warranty.
  • Needs extra power for some notebooks. SafetyDrill doesnt work with Macs or FAT32 drives.
  • With utilities for both data backup and catastrophic failure backups, this is the portable drive you want if you are running a Windows XP or Vista PC with NTFS-formatted drives....

  • Small Fast Fantastic software package
  • No syncing between XP and Vista No boot disc ISO on the drive
  • Maxtor has hit it out of the park with the One Touch 4 Mini as far as we’re concerned. It’s easy to stick a notebook hard drive into a chassis, but it’s much more difficult to create intuitive, useful backup and security software to go w...

  • Runs cool and very quiet, Respectable performance, Software is easy to use and provides useful features, SafetyDrill provides simple system recovery solution, Protect your data with password protection and/or encryption, Easy setup
  • Paying a premium if you dont intend to use the software, Probably not enough disk space to use all software features at once
  • There are many options out there when it comes to external hard drives, so it is difficult to get too excited about any of them unless they do something really special. While the 80GB Maxtor OneTouch 4 Mini looks good, works well, and is easy to use, w...
