HDMI upconversion to 720p and 1080i resolutions; can play back DivX files; solid disc compatibility; relatively inexpensive.
Cannot deliver full DVD resolution over HDMI; HDMI output cannot pass signals from VCR.
The inexpensive Samsung DVD-V9650 DVD/VCR combo unit has an HDMI output, a nice design, and DivX compatibility, but its soft video quality falls short of other HDMI players weve tested.
