  • Easy to use, with handy help button; body-based image stabilization; very good overall imge quality.
  • Limited control over autofocus; no auto-orientation sensor; no Live View; no video recording features.
  • Overall, despite the Pentax K2000’s stellar image quality and what the company has done to make this model appealing and easy to use, it is difficult to recommend the K2000 wholeheartedly due to its focusing shortcomings. If you have an arsenal of P...

  • Abstract:  I believe Canon was the first to do it: use white to identify a photographic product, especially some of its lenses. Now Pentax takes it further and splashes white onto one of its DSLR models. The original PENTAX K2000 (also known as the K-m in some pa...

  • Compact, stainless steel frame. Excellent image quality. Built-in help guide. Comfortable grip. Extremely long battery life.
  • Hispeed burst rate takes only seven exposures before buffer fills. Builtin flash could be more powerful.
  • With built-in image stabilization, a sensor dust-removal system, side-by-side picture comparison, automatic bracketing, high and low burst rates, and a plethora of other features, the K2000 assures that if youre ready to move up, it cant get any eas...

  • Very fast autofocus; relatively nice viewfinder; wireless flash and in-body image stabilization.
  • No Live View mode; poor default JPEG image settings.
  • Speedy performance lifts the Pentax K2000 above the cheap-dSLR masses, but bad default settings make it an iffy choice for newbies.

  • While price isnt a factor in our testing procedures, that doesnt mean we dont appreciate a solid value when we see one, and thats very much the case with the Olympus K2000. It incorporates ease-of-use features such as sophisticated autoexposure ...
