  • If Minecraft: New Nintendo 3DS Edition existed within a vacuum, where a version on mobile devices wasn't available, this game wouldn't be a hard sell. But that's not the case...

  • All of the excellent features of the New Nintendo 3DS XL (except with smaller screens), Interchangeable faceplates add customization options
  • Same price as larger 3DS XL, Fewer choices for case colors and designs, Still difficult to find in North America
  • The New Nintendo 3DS gaming handheld packs a top-notch gaming experience into a slightly smaller, more customizable package than the New 3DS XL...

  • Abstract:  The new Nintendo 3DS is available now, an improvement on the previous model with better processing speed, a smoother 3D interface with face-tracking technology, and the ability to play newer games like Xenoblade Chronicles 3D, which will release exclusive...

  • The speakers are put out a richer, louder sound—I can actually hear the 3DS if the TV is on, Advertisement, The new home, start and select buttons feel so much better. They're not mushy anymore, and are easier to reach from the 3DS' face buttons, Everyth
  • Why is the power button on the front edge? I'm always worried it's going to turn off in my pocket. It hasn't yet, but just you wait, Advertisement, Why is the stylus on the front? In the old model, it used to lie on the right-side, making it easier to pu
  • Yes. If you dont already have a 3DS and you want one, this is the one you want. If you have an older 3DS, you should still buy one—just not right away. This New 3DS is better in almost every way, but your current handheld plays all the same games, has al...

  • 3D screen works better, is more enjoyable to use, Secondary analog pad offers richer control options, Upgraded processor does everything faster
  • Some games work differently on the last-gen 3DSes, Customizable plates only offered on the smaller New 3DS, Buying games and apps is still a chore
  • Both of the new 3DSes bring enough improvements to warrant an upgrade from the original system. Nintendo has finally managed to make the 3D effect work comfortably, and hardware looks more refined on both models. If you already own a 3DS, an upgrade in 2...

  • The New 3DS' facial tracking makes for a hugely improved 3D gaming experience. Its new analog stick is appreciated and the clip-on covers add a lot of style
  • The new C Stick has poor feel though, and I can't help wishing for a more significant boost to battery life
  • Nintendo's New 3DS isn't much improved overall, but that new display alone almost makes the purchase worthwhile -- or will do, once it's available outside of Japan....

  • 3D effect is vastly improved, Much faster performance, Swappable faceplates are cool, New control additions mostly work well
  • Screen tech still outdated in other ways, Improved cameras remain unusably bad, C-stick doesn't work for all types of games, XL model omits faceplates
  • More times than not, the Verge score is based on the average of the subscores below. However, since this is a non-weighted average, we reserve the right to tweak the overall score if we feel it doesn't reflect our overall assessment and price of the produ...
