52x zoom range. Sharp lens at wider angles. 12fps burst shooting mode. In-camera art and color filters.
Very noisy images. Sharpness doesn't hold up at 52x. No external battery charger included. No EVF. Limited shots per burst
The Kodak Pixpro AZ521 has great specs, but only manages to deliver budget-level image quality at a midrange price....
Despite the standard issue mini-DSLR design and value added £250 initial price tag, ‘better than expected' is our overall verdict on the 16 megapixel, 52x zoom behemoth the AZ521 from Kodak's new license holder JK Imaging, initially available through Arg...
Nice to hold, handle and use, Easy to use, 52x zoom lens with effective stabilisation, Fast photosaving times, 10 fps burst mode, Good audio quality in video mode, Interval timer, Build quality is decent
Screen has tight viewing angles, Onscreen image is too yellow, Vibrations as you zoom, Picture quality isn't up to much, Zoom lens isn't great quality, Indecisive autofocus can be frustrating (especially when zoomed in)
Great value for money, zoom range is one of the best in class, plenty of detail and colour in the images, easy to use
No eye-level viewfinder, hotshoe or Raw shooting, no GPS or Wi-Fi connectivity – but in fairness this would add to the price
Imaging performance is better than expected from this reboot of the classic camera brand. Basic in some respects perhaps, but at its price the AZ521 packs a punch
San...
