  • Abstract:  I thought our readers would like to see what a thousand dollars buys you in computer speakers. Just the two speakers, no subwoofer. More glass floor than ceiling! From the Harman Kardon website:Every detail of the GLA-55, from the facets of its bass-ref...

  • Luxurious, roomfilling sound. Stereo mini jack lets you easily select your sonic weapon of choice, be it desktop, laptop or MP3 player. Crisp, punchy mids and sparkling highs. Convenient touchsensitive volume controls

  • Abstract:  Known as much for forward-thinking design as for technology, Harman/Kardon’s recently announced GLA-55 two speaker system, set for both computer and home use, is a true eye-catcher. The high-end product is both versatile in function and staggering in a...

  • Great audio quality, visually appealing design
  • Expensive
  • At around $1000, the GLA-55 speakers sit at the high-end for iPod audio. The money buys something of an artwork in the speakers' unique design alone, but there's also some smart acoustic engineering at work here. A combination of powerful amplification...

  • Abstract:  We could tell you that the Harman/Kardon GLA-55 system boasts high-impact audio and a massive soundscape, or that the bass can mimic a subwoofer six times its size, but all you or anyone that comes in contact with these speakers is going to be able to tal...

  • Abstract:  They look, as my mother used to say, “all mouth and no trousers”, but the GLA-55 have a lot of technology on board and sound every inch a Harman Kardon product. They are also adaptable – with built-in 56-watt amps, which will amp up your laptop, desktop o...

  • Very striking looks, fantastic sound quality
  • Expensive, sound can be a bit clinical, looks won’t suit everyone
