  • Abstract:  Finally, like other recent Fujifilm models, the FinePix HS50EXR has a function called Advanced Filter, which is a set of digital special effects, including Pop Color for a contrast and saturation boost, Toy Camera for a vignetted 1970's look, Cross Screen...

  • Without question, the quality of the pictures taken at the Niagara Conservatory are absolutely amazing and speak very highly for the Fuji HS50. In fact, I am just a bit jealous, considering that I was right beside Karen taking virtually the same pictures...

  • Very fast focus / AF system; Large and clear viewfinder; Handling; Multitude of physical controls
  • Video quality; Slight lagging with menu operation; Occasional metering issues
  • The HS50 EXR is one of the most fully-featured superzoom cameras currently available, with a superb focusing system, excellent viewfinder and ergonomic design to recommend it. Despite sub-par video quality, images are detailed and relatively noise-fr...

  • Manual 42x zoom lens. Sharp images. High-quality vari-angle LCD. Sharp EVF. Lots of physical controls. Raw shooting support.
  • As big as an SLR. Limited continuous shooting. Images suffer at higher ISO settings. Nonstandard mic input
  • The Fujifilm FinePix HS50EXR is a big camera with an impressive 42x zoom lens and plenty of controls, but its images don't hold up in low light....

  • The Fujifilm FinePix HS50EXR has a nice 42x manual zoom lens; fast performance; very good picture quality for its class; a lot of shooting options, including manual and semimanual modes and raw capture; and excellent hardware features
  • Its manual zoom isn't great for zooming while capturing movies, it's large and heavy, for those uninitiated with Fujifilm's EXR sensors, getting the best results can require a little extra effort
  • The Fujifilm FinePix HS50EXR's features and performance are well beyond those of your average point-and-shoot megazoom, making it a fine choice for enthusiasts and as a family camera.
