  • Abstract:  Frank West is a pretty cool dude. He's an investigative journalist who gets things done. When he ends up on an assignment where there just so happen to be zombies, he doesn't run. He gets in there and keeps reporting on what's happening, all while cobblin...

  • Hack and slash gameplay is fast-paced and fun, Frank West is still pretty funny, great art direction
  • Much easier than before, camera grading system makes taking pictures more repetitive than fun, Prev2 of 2Next
  • Dead Rising 4 is a really fun zombie romp, even if there's not much here to set it apart from any other zombie romp. It also runs the risk of alienating fans of the series who might be the most excited to see its return — with much lower difficulty and mu...

  • Despite all this, Dead Rising 4 is still entertaining. Carving through zombies is still as gratuitous as ever. Creating Combo Weapons has been a welcome addition to the franchise and continues to offer interesting gameplay moments. The game's atmosphere...

  • Creative combo weapons, Variety of enemies, Easy-to-manage inventory system
  • Boring, linear story, A few glitches, Exo suits are underused
  • If you play Dead Rising 4, don't do it for the story, which is completely uninspired. Instead, do it for the seemingly endless ways of making zombies gush blood. The answers Frank seeks are unimportant, but filling mercenaries with lead and beating down t...

  • Abstract:  Frank West has been the fan favorite protagonist since the original game back in 2006. Despite this, he was absent in Dead Rising 2 and 3, only being mentioned in the story. Don't get me wrong, I love Frank as much as the next fan, but I was ok with new c...

  • Abstract:  The Dead Rising series is always shifting and evolving. Each installment is slightly different from the rest. Sometimes, the changes are minor. Other times, they're far more drastic. With Dead Rising 4, we have a reboot that abandons the idea of a though...

  • Intriguing central mystery, Amusing, endearing commentary from Frank, Creative combo weapons add entertainment value, Open world contains plenty to discover
  • Core combat feels routine, repetitive, and largely unchanged from previous games, Cooperative multiplayer adds little to the experience

  • Slaying zombies is still fun, Frank West returns, and is hilarious, Plenty of tools of destruction
  • Story co-op removed, Story feels uninspired

  • A solid game that definitely has an audience. Might lack replay value, could be too short or there are some hard-to-ignore faults, but the experience is fun. How we score:  The Destructoid Reviews Guide...

  • Gameplay is more chaotic than ever, and combo weapons/vehicles are amazing, The writing/performances are laugh-out-loud funny, Runs better than previous games in the series
  • Occasional bugs dampen the fun, Bosses have a diminished role compared to previous entries, Borrows more from Dead Rising 3 than it adds
  • Dead Rising 4 is bloody, chaotic, and downright hilarious. If you're looking to turn your brain off this holiday season, and destress with gratuitous violence, this is the game for you
