  • Abstract:  If you're a regular visitor to the pages of OC3D you'll no have noticed a bit of dearth of cooler reviews. The reason for this is simple, we've retired the old 2011 rig and have been busy specking up and putting together a new test rig. Not that the 2011...

  • Build Quality, Size, Very Good Cooling Efficiency, Low Noise Levels, Dual Fan Solution, FourDirectional Fan Mounting, Socket Compatibility, 3 Years Warranty, Price (For Some)
  • Current Availability, Lack of Extra Fan Mounting Clips
  • Be Quiet! currently has all of their CPU Cooler models divided into two product lines the Shadow Rock which is aimed towards people who want performance with low noise levels and at a rather affordable price tag and the Dark Rock one which is their high e...

  • Abstract:  Computer enthusiasts are funny bunch, always on the look out for better, faster, cooler, quieter and less expensive. All in One liquid coolers are relatively expensive, but this hasn't slowed their adoption too much. Fancy new cooling concepts like the Ca...

  • All in all the Shadow Rock 2 from be quiet! is a great little cooler. The fan included with the cooler is amazingly quiet at all power levels – to the point where you want to keep looking at it to make sure the fan is spinning. The brushed aluminum top a...

  • Square Tower Design, Silent 122mm Cooling Fan, Four Heatpipe Design, Thick Fin Radiator, Brushed Heatsink Cover, 180w Power Handling
  • Mounting system is cumbersome, Cooler could benefit from a second fan
  • As with any computer component the designers set out to accomplish a goal. With some products that goal is to be universal and work with anything while others have more specialized tasks and do that one thing extremely well. In terms of heatsinks they can...

  • Fan can be mounted on any of the four sides. Silent Fan. Sleek look.
  • Installation is quite difficult. Large and bulky. Poor for overclocking
  • If you're using a 4770k/3770k and wanting to overclock then the Shadow rock 2 might not be for you. On the other hand, if you are using a 3570/4570k or any Sandy Bridge chip, and you want a super-quiet cooler, than this might fit your needs....

  • Very quiet, Sleek design, Universal cooler
  • More difficult installation that other coolers, May block memory with larger heatspreaders, Other coolers we have tested have performanced better
  • When I first took the Shadow Rock 2 out of its packaging I was very surprised at the quality and design of the cooler. The brushed aluminum top piece really looks great and is going to look even better inside of a case with a side panel window. The color...

  • The Shadow Rock 2 has an industrial look with its brushed aluminum top-plate and exposed copper heatpipes. This is a look that seems to be either a “love it” or “hate it” type of thing to many people, but I like industrial looks just as much, if not bet...
