  • Abstract:  It happened: the MacBook Air has officially been trumped as my recommended road warrior machine. And, perhaps unsurprisingly, it's another Apple product that's doing the trumping. Released last month alongside the iPad Air and revised iPad mini with Retin...

  • Brilliant Retina display. Over 11 hours of battery life. Comes with iLife and iWork software suites. Two Thunderbolt 2 ports. HDMI. Higher than 1080p HD screen.
  • Glossy screen. Ethernet requires adapter. Only upgradeable at time of order
  • The Apple MacBook Pro 13-inch (2013) uses Intel's Haswell-based Core i5 processor to give power users a system that can last over 11 hours under continuous use and still process graphics and scientific tasks quickly. It's $500 less expensive than last ye...

  • Glorious Retina display, Powerful performance, Ultrabookthin and light, New lower price
  • No discrete graphics
  • If you need an ultraportable laptop with lots of power -- and especially if you want one of the best screens available -- experts say the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display is your best bet. It's a little chunkier than the 13-inch MacBook Air (Est. $...

  • Extremely sharp 2560x1600 resolution display (2880x1800, for the 15inch model) is pure eye candy. Excellent springy keyboard and trackpad. Super snappy, powerful processor, with integrated graphics. Nearly allday battery performance
  • Price upgrades, addons, and accessories can still up the base cost by nearly $1,000. Sealed unibody design is virtually impossible to upgrade yourself once you've purchased the device

  • Much improved battery life, Faster integrated graphics, Faster integrated graphics
  • RAM not user upgradeable, Skimps on RAM, flash capacity, RAM not user upgradable
  • With much-improved battery life and graphics performance, the late 2013 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display should have owners of older Mac laptops looking to upgrade. The entry-level model's 128GB of flash storage may not be spacious enough to accom...

  • The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display has phenomenal battery life, better-than-average integrated graphics, faster Thunderbolt 2 ports, and a lower price than last year
  • Still expensive if you plan to add more storage or RAM, no extra Nvidia graphics option as on the 15-inch version, yes, it's thicker and heavier than an Air
  • There are other high-res laptops out there, but this year’s more powerful and affordable 13-inch Retina MacBook Pro is one of the best of the bunch, and makes a compelling case for upgrading from the 13-inch Air.

  • New, lower price, Gorgeous display, Thinner and lighter than before, Long battery life, Good graphics, improved SSD speeds
  • No discrete GPU option on the 13-inch model, Fans can get loud
  • Thanks to a lower price, longer battery life and lighter design, the 13-inch Retina MBP is a better deal than it was a year ago. It's so compelling, in fact, that you might even choose it over the Air....
