  • Abstract:  A splendid bit of design that will please the most commited enthusiast, and a godsend for artists on a budget. We were impressed when we saw the forerunner to the Cintiq 12WX – the Cintiq 21UX. A responsive, easy-to-use tablet with an integrated...

  • Fluid operation, Useful for many graphics and imaging tasks
  • Bulky breakout box, Hard to work near the edges of the screen, Relatively expensive
  • A great input device if you do a lot of brush-based graphics, the Cintiq 12WX nonetheless has some awkward design aspects and a bit of a high price.

  • Smallest, most affordable Cintiq; crisp, bright LCD
  • Takes up lots of desk space, twice the price of a comparable Intuos tablet The Final Word Is the 12WX worth twice the price of a comparable-size Intuos tablet? Only if you value the built-in LCD.

  • Feels utterly natural to use, so even your scrappiest scribblings end up looking top notch
  • Fiddly setup and extra cables for new Macs needed
  • If you're serious about taking your art digital, the Wacom Cintiq 12WX is as essential a tool as your HB pencil...

  • I really do like the 12WX, but my frustration with the alignment led to me try using the display as a traditional tablet to draw on my primary monitor. I was much happier working this way as I wasnt visually expecting the pen and the display to be ali...

  • Abstract:  When Wacom first experimented with building a monitor into a pressure-sensitive graphics tablet, the result was an unwieldy, heavy box that fitted neither on the lap nor the desktop. Several versions later and the Cintiq has evolved into a thing of bea...

  • Stylish, quality build, excellent subtle response, good screen definition with wide viewing angle, 16:10 format display, ergonomic weighted grip pen, relatively compact size, customisable controls, spare pen nibs
  • Reduced price still too high for some, relatively small screen size, no Bluetooth option for fuller portability, no dedicated carry case, some calibration issues, bundled software doesn’t reflect premium price Min specs: Requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or...
  • If you already own the mighty Cintiq 21 UX you’re unlikely to want to replace it with the smaller version despite its obvious charms. That said, this is a wonderful alternative for anyone restricted by budget and space. Likely to outlive the average...
