Abstract: The NEX-F3's 3 inch LCD monitor can be tilted back and then up through 180 degrees to face forwards, providing a straightforward way to shoot of self-portraits, a popular activity with the 'connected' teens and twenties. In this 'upside down' orientation ...

Yes, for $699, the Sony NEX-F3, like the NEX-C3, is a great buy. It's a major improvement for people who would otherwise buy top point-and-shoot cameras, like the Canon S100. It provides the image quality, flexibility and some of the features of a DSLR. A...
Good at high ISOs, Excellent dynamic range, 180 degree swivel screen, Auto HDR mode, Customisable controls
AF struggles in low light, Articulated arm could be improved
It's interesting that Sony has chosen to replace the NEX-C3 with this NEX-F3 camera so soon, but by doing so, it has addressed some, if not all common issues with the older model. Thanks to the slightly bulkier body, and inclusion of a decent finger grip,...

The Sony Alpha NEX-F3 produces very nice low- to midrange sensitivity pictures, plus you can configure it for streamlined shooting, and delivers solid overall performance. The new automated self-portrait is also a boon for people who like to put themselve
The LCD can be difficult to view in bright light, and the SD card slot is in a bad spot for tripod users

Of course, like most cameras that shoot video, the NEX-F3 does have a few limitations compared to a traditional camcorder. Its auto controls aren't as reliable and its body design isn't great for a long day of handheld shooting (although there are plenty ...
Good grip, Builtin flash (finally!), Customisable interface, Sharp, pleasant, verticaltilt screen (up to 180° upwards), Very good picture quality up to 3200 ISO
Battery life could be better, Noisy shutter release (no discreet snapping here!), Variable quality 1855 mm kit lens / Limited choice of lenses (unless you use an adapter ring), Bulkier than previous NEX cameras
The Sony NEX-F3 gets a built-in flash in return for a bulkier body. Elsewhere, changes are few and far between, and the NEX-F3 is as simple, effective and pleasant-to-use as the NEX-C3. With its more reasonable price tag, it makes an excellent alternat...
The Sony NEX-F3 is a very capable camera. What it does, it does well, and for an entry-level compact system camera its difficult to find anything that is really missing. The only exceptions, perhaps, are touchscreen control and Wi-Fi capability, as seen...
