  • Price is nice with drive included, Performance is inline with other lower priced NASes, Includes easy remote access, DLNA and iTunes servers
  • Seagate Dashboard is a porky 629MB install, Android and iOS apps are still not consistent, No automatic backup of the Central's files
  • Single drive "family" NAS focused on simple file storage, sharing, backup and media playing. Comes in 2, 3 and 4 TB capacities....

  • Access to your content from many devices including remotely; easy to setup and get running; large storage capacity in a small package
  • Hard drive cannot be replaced if it fails; does get noisy in quiet areas
  • A NAS system with painless setup and easy install, making it easy for everyday consumers who just want to share their media across devices....

  • 4TB capacity in a small enclosure, Remote access worked well, App is easy to use
  • Hard drive is not user replaceable, Somewhat noisy during seek operations, Network cable can be hard to disconnect
  • Seagate's Central network drive has a large capacity and is perfect as a repository for media files in a home network. It performed swiftly in our tests, was easy to set up, and its app worked as expected. Remote access to files was also a positive experi...

  • NAS devices aren't exciting in the physical sense, just like backup is one of those topics that nobody ever really wants to talk about. I can't say the Central is an exciting gadget in that context, but it's certainly a mostly functional one as long as yo...

  • The Seagate Central is fast, easy to use, and comes with many options for media streaming, both locally and via the Internet
  • As a single-volume server, the Central offers no data protection should its internal hard drive fail; its remote feature is very sluggish and limited when accessed via a browser
  • The affordable Seagate Central delivers as a fast and easy-to-use network storage device for home backup and entertainment purposes....
