Panasonic's Lumix GM5 is a tiny mirrorless system camera based on the Micro Four Thirds standard - so while it's roughly the same size as a Sony RX100, it actually supports interchangeable lenses. The GM5 builds on the existing GM1 by packing in a small b...
Abstract: The GM5 has been designed to be easy to uses, fast, and precise. Numerous AutoFocus modes combine with a maximum 1/16,000 shutter speed to make the GM5 great for shooting high velocity activities like sporting events, but iA+ (intelligent Auto) mode makes...
Abstract: Last year's Panasonic Lumix GM1 proved a hit with its combination of shooting power and diminutive dimensions, although it certainly wasn't perfect. See our Panasonic Lumix GM1 sample images to take a closer look at the image quality. The fixed LCD screen...
As it happened, we had the Lumix GM5 on test over the Christmas and New Year holiday break so there was plenty of time to really get to know it. Very quickly it became the weapon of choice for a wide range of uses from family gatherings to the final game ...

Image quality is fine, with excellent jpeg processing. RAW was difficult to assess as the camera comes with the Silkypix converter and neither DxO nor Adobe has yet included the camera in their converters. Video is good.
The price is steep for a camera of this type. The Olympus OMD EM10, a camera with better specifications if not as cute, costs about $200 less
This is a brilliant little camera. It won't fit in a shirt or jeans pocket but it takes up little space in a bag. The electronic viewfinder and add-on flash have elevated the GM...
Small size, Viewfinder builtin, Wide range of compatible lenses
Fixed screen, Unbalanced with larger lenses, Comparatively small sensor
Although the image quality aspects (sensor and image processor) of the GM5 are the same as the GM1, the addition of a viewfinder should make the camera more attractive to a wider audience. There are also times when it seems more natural to hold a camera ...
The GM5 is a fun camera that not only looks great, but is also small and lightweight enough to fit in your pocket or pack into the daysack when you head off on holiday. With a robust build quality, your investment of £649 is likely to stand the test of ti...
