  • The upgrades might appeal to some, but the big price hike won't. The G5s is better built and battery capacity returns to what it was in the Moto G4, but the new unibody design means the battery is no longer removable. Processing power remains the same, so...

  • Nice design, microSD support
  • Same performance as Moto G4, Camera not great in low light, STILL no NFC
  • The Moto G5 may have been a disappointment, but can the Moto G5S achieve better success...

  • Surprisingly, as has been the case with recent flagship smartphone upgrades, the price of the Moto G5 isn't at issue here. It's the same as the Moto G4 when it launched and in 2017 I think £170 for the G5 is very tempting indeed. What concerns me is that...

  • All-new metal design for the king of the budget smartphones but is there enough of an upgrade from last year's model...

  • Lenovo seems to have misunderstood what made the Moto G series great. We were never bothered by the cheap and cheerful design; what mattered was that the screen, performance, camera and battery always punched above their weight at the price. With the Moto...

  • Great fingerprint scanner with effective gesture control options, microSD expansion (necessary given the 16GB storage only), sturdy metal design looks good for this price point, clean software experience
  • The G5 Plus performs so much better (but it's £80 extra), can be slow to load and some stutter in playback, no NFC like G5 Plus model (applicable for UK region), metal doesn't really look/feel like metal
  • With other manufacturers pushing into pricier brackets, the Moto G5 sticks to its £169 guns and delivers a fairly knock-out performance for the price point. It's more sophisticated to look at than its G4 predecessor, will handle all manner of tasks easily...

  • Good build quality, Bright, sharp screen, Snappy performance, Stock Android interface,
  • Audio performance lacking, Camera could be better,
  • The G5 adds another successful handset to Moto's growing line of budget wins. That said, considering its strong performance almost entirely across the board we can't help but find its audio performance a bit of a let-down, even at this level. If you're want...

  • The Moto G5 costs little, but packs a full-HD screen, good cameras and enough power for your everyday essentials
  • The dim screen can be difficult to read under bright lights and you'll need to be careful if you want to get a whole day out of the battery
  • The Moto G5 is the phone to get if you want an everyday phone for as little possible, but if you want higher-end features like NFC then go for the G5 Plus...

  • For this new device, nothing really has really changed. This low technical evolution is not necessarily a mistake on the part of Lenovo because it still happens to evolve intelligently. This Lenovo Moto G5 is simply a more modern version of its predecesso...
