  • Fantastic fingerprint reader, Great build quality, Excellent value,
  • Software is a little cumbersome, User interface can be inconsistent,
  • Huawei's Ascend Mate7 is a solid effort that goes toe-to-toe with flagships from Samsung, Apple, LG and Sony. If you're in the market for a new smartphone, it's definitely worth considering the Mate7, especially if you're looking at an outright purchase....

  • Abstract:  China does smartphones well; we know that much is the case from our quick peeks into the world of Xiaomi and Oppo. There's another big player that has been around in Australia for longer, though, and it has a brand new flagship phablet. Huawei's Mate7 pa...

  • While we still have to do an in depth review of the Huawei Ascend Mate7, the lack of bloat-ware and amazing hardware does make the look like Huawei has a winner on its hands. The UI while a pain point, will appeal to first time Android users switching ove...

  • The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 packs a huge battery that keeps going for ages, its screen is bright and bold, the camera is pretty decent and the fingerprint sensor actually works
  • It's running on an old version of Android, Huawei's software tweaks make it clunky to use and there's loads of bloatware installed as standard
  • Although it's let down by its awkward software, the excellent battery life and big, bright screen help make the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 a decent choice for those of you looking for movies and games on the go....

  • Great fingerprint scanner, Metal body
  • It's pretty big, Performance doesn't sparkle
  • The Hauwei Ascend Mate 7 looks and feels like a surprisingly accomplished handset, and at it's attractive price point it can really give the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 a run for its money. I still have a few questions on the performance side of things, but th...

  • Abstract:  Delivering one of the largest visual platforms in a smartphone, the Huawei Ascend Mate 7 has a 6” FHD In-cell display, which by design has great wide viewing angles. The first surprise is that in the hand, the Mate 7 doesn't feel anywhere near as big as i...

  • Large 6" screen with decent resolution and very good picture quality, Faultless design and construction, System is brilliantly fluid / Emotion UI runs well and is easily customisable, 4Gcompatibility / DualSIM (just 4G for the second), Good media player,
  • No UHD/4K video, Good battery life, but should be better given the enormous battery capacity, Graphics chip might be a little underpowered for future titles, You have to choose between a second SIM or microSD
  • A Mate 7 but beefier and better. The Acend Mate 7 Gold might not have addressed the slight problems we encountered on the Mate 7, but the performance of its already sterling features has been bolstered. For starters, it's now dual-SIM, a pretty unique att...

  • Abstract:  Despite the theatrics if you pause 28 seconds into the trailer it briefly compares the device to the iPhone 6+ (from a cosmetic point of view) and it looks pretty similar in our eyes, both in terms of size and the thinness of the casing!Yet the device's s...

  • Excellent fingerprint sensor, The screen – bright and vibrant, Battery life, Design
  • Old version of Android, Too much bloatware, Almost impossible to use one handed, Micro SD slot hard to access
  • The Huawei Ascend Mate 7 is a good looking, solidly built handset than has more than a touch of quality.  It feels nice in the hand, is well balanced, has a great screen, plenty of storage options and features galore. On the slightly less than positive sid...

  • Nice metal design, easy to hold, fantastic battery life, solid build, good value for money
  • Awful UI, old version of Android, lots of bloatware, may be too big for some
  • Huawei's first foray into phablets does an all round impressive job. A good looking design with a great build quality nails the outside of the handset. With offerings from Apple and Samsung tearing up the phablet rulebook in 2014, Huawei's handset has ...
