  • With its sub-par battery life and not particularly brilliant cameras, I'm not wholly enamoured with the Mate 9. It's fast and has a lovely design, but I'm not sure it's worth the money. UK prices have yet to be announced for the Mate 9, but we do know tha...

  • Great camera, Huge screen, Android Nougat
  • Only 1080p, Likely high price, Not water resistant
  • The Huawei Mate 9 is big, beautiful and powerful. The 1080p screen leaves it feeling slightly under specced for a flagship, but a great camera and big battery more than make up for it...

  • Powerful camera, Strong chipset, Well made
  • 1080p screen, Still cluttered as an interface
  • Another solid effort from Huawei – despite not having all the top-end specs, this looks to be a good large-screen choice...

  • Curved 2K screen, Extra RAM boost to 6GB
  • Horrendously high price, Emotion UI still strange
  • Huawei's premium smartphone looks, feels and is better than the Huawei Mate 9 in quite a few ways, but it's far too expensive to recommend. If you're a fan of Porsche though, you now have a new phone to lust after...

  • Impressive battery life, Lovely screen, Much improved software, Plenty of power
  • Slightly dull design, Still some annoying software quirks, Camera not always reliable
  • Huawei Mate 9 – Battery Life I've never been completely won over by large phones, but their more sizeable batteries keep tempting me back. Having a phone that more times than not lasts two straight days without needing a charge is something that's hard to...

  • Abstract:  It's official. The Huawei Mate 9 has just been presented by the company at an event in Munich. The new smartphone Huawei is betting on the format phablet with a 5.9-inch screen with True-to-Life technology. With an exterior design very similar to its pred...

  • Great screen-to-size ratio, Gadget-packed camera, Seriously powerful CPU and GPU
  • Not as striking as some rivals, Battery spec is better than real battery stamina, AAA price
  • So that's the Huawei Mate 9 and we're plenty excited about it. A big-screened phone with a dapper camera, what's not to like? Of course, Emotion UI may turn out to be a flub again and carrying a 5.9in device on the regular isn't for everyone, but for now...

  • Abstract:  Huawei's new smartphone has a massive 5.9in screen. But just how big do you really want your smartphone to be?Phablets – smartphones with screen sizes over 5.5in – have become more and more popular, showing a trend migration from their Asian origins to th...
