  • Superb image quality, Bright, quick lens, Exceptionally solid build and grip, Smart physical and onscreen controls, Optical viewfinder with overlay and electronic option, Good preview LCD, Wide range of bracketing modes, Remote shutter option,
  • No lens zoom for those that need it, Expensive relative to compacts, Optical viewfinder doesn't aim down the lens, No external microphone input, Not really meant for sustained burst shooting.
  • The X100 isn't an easy choice to make if you're just shopping casually. At $1,200, it's twice as expensive as an entry-level interchangeable lens camera and three times as much as advanced compacts like the S95. To some extent, that's understandable an...

  • Excellent photo quality, with very low noise levels, Cool rangefinderstyle body, complete with manual aperture/focus rings and dials for shutter speed and exposure compensation, Very fast, sharp F2.0, 23mm (35mmequivalent) lens, Oneofakind, large hybrid viewfinder can be optical (with a framing guide and tons of shooting data overlaid) or electronic (with 1.44M pixels), 2.8" LCD display with 460k
  • Expensive, Optical viewfinder takes getting used to due to moving frame and 90% coverage; viewfinder is hard to see in low light, or when wearing polarized sunglasses and shooting in the portrait orientation, Design annoyances: plasticky fourway controller is too small and easy to press the wrong direction; power switch too easy to bump, Buffer memory fills up quickly; long write times when RAW i
  • The Fuji FinePix X100 has been making a lot of waves in the digital photography world since it was first shown at Photokina in 2010. How could you not drool over a rangefinder-style camera with an APS-C sensor, fast prime lens, and unique hybrid viewf...

  • Abstract:  Fuji X100, f/4, 1/150s, ISO 200. Having used my new for a few more days and on various different occasions I have some more things to say about it. Once focus is achieved there isn’t any shutter lag. I spent quite a bit of the day in manual focus b...

  • Abstract:  Fuji X100 in macro mode, f/2.8, 1/150s, ISO 200. Shot in RAW, converted with Silkypix to TIFF then processed in Photoshop CS3 to JPEG. My hands were shaking as I carefully removed the outer garments. There it was: The slinky, shiny, jet black box. O...

  • Highend feel, superb image quality and hybrid viewfinder
  • Price, can be a touch slow in operation
  • With the FinePix X100 it's quite clear that Fujifilm has pulled out all the stops when it comes to this camera. The look and feel of the camera is superb - as soon as you pick up the X100, it's obvious that you're dealing with a quality photographic to...

  • Abstract:  Fuji X100, f/2.8, 1/55s, ISO 800. I know I’m not alone in my excitement for this little camera. I like traveling light and rarely take a DSLR kit with me to social events or holidays. Hence, I’ve tried numerous compacts, the latest of which was the ...

  • Abstract:  All we really knew about Fujifilm's FinePix X100 was that its looks (and pricetag) could kill, but Photography Blog has discovered that the gorgeous magnesium machine takes fantastic photographs too. You won't actually be able to see any of them at th...

  • Abstract:  Otherwise it's hard not to be excited about the X100. For serious photographers who value high image quality in combination with eye-level non-reflex viewing, this is a camera to cherish. The excellent build quality also helps to justify the relatively high price of the X100. I doubt that anyone with the wherewithal to purchase this camera and the interest in what it has to offer, will ever regret its purchase.

  • Abstract:  There clearly are some frustrating aspects to the X100. But, it would be dead wrong to suppose that the negatives outweigh the positives. Far from it. The image quality from this camera is nothing short of exceptional. Not just for a compact camera, but for any type of camera. And the innovative OVF / EVF is a real pleasure to use most of the time. The camera's build quality is first-rate, and one feels that this is a picture..
